What a labor of love! We've spent the past few years really working on cleaning up our forested area of our property. When we moved in it was laden with overgrowth, including insane amounts of invasive plants. And during the process of restoring our forest, we discovered something we never would have expected!

Join along as I show you our process to turn this overgrown area into a lovely forest garden. I give lots of tips on removing and eliminating invasive plants, as well as strategies for turning it into a garden rather than just the woods. #forestrestoration #nativeplants #invasivespecies

Wow! What an informative episode!! I can relate, as I did the same for a 2 acre home in Connecticut 30 years ago. The land had previously belonged to a sea captain, who originally owned 50 acres. I uncovered fieldstone steps tiered throughout the property that the original owners put down, and noninvasive wild roses, etc. Clearing out the debris and weeds meant I could see pheasants and other wildlife from my kitchen window. This is definitely a long-term project, so take lots of pictures. 🌞

That's is beautiful !!! LOOOVE NATURE....I have 1 1/2 acres and we already have a nice fire pit which we enjoy almost every weekend. It is one of the best projects we ever did, My plan is to clean the forest like you are doing and make a trail to walk and exercise. But like you said it takes patience and time 😔 two things that is difficult for me to have, but I won't give up. I 'm originally from Puerto Rico, where you can gardening all year around, and 28 years living in Massachusetts big change in climate, that's where the inpatient kicks in. Anyway enough about me. I love your channel you inspire me to keep going and I have learn so much from you. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! I would love to see how everything finish, God bless you and your wife for the support that she gives you...wish you a lots of health, I will continue watching your videos, so I can learn more about planting in this cranky weather 😄.

Great job. Love what you have done. I'm trying to do the same. I'm having a tough time keeping the English ivy under control. It's traveling up some of my spruce trees. Here in Washington State, ivy seems to be prevalent. Love your channel, great information. Use all your families plant food, with great results. Take care and God bless.

Enjoyed the video. The property is definitely coming along. I have a sweet gum tree on my property and it is a messy tree. Not invasive from my understanding, but it drops so many seed pods during the fall and winter that it is a mess. I dislike cutting trees down, but my plan is to remove it and replace with with a few other trees. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your videos.

Amazing Property + Absolutely LOVE the woodland setting. May I suggest planting Trillium Erectum in small groups, BtW, Trilliums come in different colors.

Question...are you planting the copper top viburnum? I have some of these in zone 9b and they are gorgeous! I could be wrong, but thought I recognized it from the photo. A Southern living shrub if I remember correctly.
