I just want to say thank you, you got me back into crafting after years. And now I'm making money crafting jewelry and close to making it my primary income. Even if you don't have a million subscribers you do have an impact on people.

Some of it may be the drying time. I know that for the big companies they let the leaves dry for days and weeks in huge buildings basically designed for the purpose. Admittedly that's primarily for black tea (which honestly is just let dry and oxidize for longer). Great video as always

Primarily if you're comparing it to store bought bagged tea, that is ground up to the pount thar theres a bunch of poweder shoved into the bag with leaf bits. So its like steaping tea and powder drink mix. It's also the lower quality leaves that go to the bags so its going to be far more astringent. Loose leaf is often more smooth depending on the style, Japanese teas are rolled tight and often crushed/chopped into smaller bits to have a richer vegetable flavor compared to Chinese tease. If you like how you prepped it something like long jin or monkey picked teas would be a good place to poke around with loose leaf.

Some teas have a prime time to pick for maximum flavor I'm unsure for your plant.

I grew Chamomile this year and I know the best time to pick was when the flowers were full bloom and not drooping. The drying methods and times can also factor into how flavors work. I usually just air dry all my plants and they look super aesthetic hanging from places by twine or sitting in a bowl. Though air drying can take quite a while so dehydraters are another option I've seen being used.

You can make tea out of dandilions you find on the street too. Most people see them as weeds. But they actually contain medicinal properties so don't throw them away when you uproot them.

If you wanna learn herbal infusions this is a great place to start. Also an infusion would be a fancy way of making herbal potions.

I wonder how well it would work to dry using a cooling rack on the top shelf and a cookie sheet on the lower shelf. Might not have to turn them.

It's very simple... it's not as strong because you didn't add bourbon. I know... I'm a tea enthusiast.
