On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Thanks for the fights, GS! If anyone has any questions, feel free to let me know here or in the DCS forum link with my layouts and tutorials.

Playing with a controller is actually pretty good if you don't have a flight setup

It’s cool almost feeling like fighting against a whole new style. You’re bringing the HOTAS, he’s bringing the controller, but both of you are masters of your own arenas and are challenging eachother like the ace pilots of two separate nations. That first round went back and forth so many times I lost count. Truly amazing

I started on a controller, ordered an X56 that turned out to have ghosting issues, switched back to the controller, and now I pretty much exclusively play IL2 on a steam deck. It's so nice to just sit down and start flying.

I was flying a mission yesterday, and there was someone who was using keyboard and mouse in the F-15E. I was amazed at how well he was able to maintaining tight formation.

Nobody at the pub is going to believe that guy had an F-14 crash and explode ten feet from his vehicle.

Like I tell many people starting out in DCS, you don’t need all the fancy flight sim stuff to play the simulator, as long as you can get it used to using a controller or the arrow keys, you can still be competitive

Tuuvas was the reason i picked up DCS. Did not want to buy a hotas before i knew what i was getting into. It works pretty well with just xbox controller, doing the startup and takeoff with the mouse/keyboard.

My whole DCS setup is 30$ joystick, keyboard, I already had and a 10$ webcam for AITrack, I have around 150 hours with this setup and it's definitely not stopping me from becoming good in dcs. No need for 700$ insane setup, that's just luxury.

I really enjoy watching someone as skilled and knowledgeable as you play DCS. It’s like Top Gun: The Series. Except without any contrived buddy plots or implausible romance segments. As an avid aviation, military, and history nerd, I never get tired of watching your content.

Dang I’m beyond impressed that he can fly like that with a controller!

I always play DCS with a controller, by choice not by necessity. I didn't want to have to completely rebuild by desk every time I wanted to use my computer for something else. Wouldn't be able to do it without head tracking though, I use my 2nd stick for rudder control. Insane that Tuuvas can do that and still stay competitive in PVP.

What a skill Tuuvas has, doing it with a controller alone is amazing

Awesome seeing to content creators coming together. Awesome segment. Love the content GS!

Because of Tuuvas I'm learning to play DCS on controller with the layouts he has provided and gotten 20+ hours in the game so far. Flying the F-15C rather well in the 4YA Training servers. I really can't wait to join the GS server when I have enough experience!

You, Tuuvas and Tabs are the reason I got into DCS!

as someone who has never played DCS, i believe that there's no large difference between HOTAS and controller, but something like VR or IR tracking has to be huge for situationally awareness

Yo GS, Nice co-lab. Enjoy seeing you bring out the cat. That was an awesome demo of Tuuvas flying with a controller. I think most would not even think of trying a gamepad. Hope this lowers the barrier to entry and get a lot more flyers in the sim. Great content as always. Keep it up. Have a pleasant day. Cheers.

That is incredible! I'm with you, GS- I don't think I could be anywhere near passable even after a year's practice. And when Tuuvas was saying it took a week of intense practice, I expected he meant something like "I took a week's vacation and played DCS 10+ hours a day"- to hear him say "an hour a day, but most of my sessions were multi-hour" blew my mind. 14 hours? Crazy.

Tuuvas actually got me into dcs cause i didn't wanna go out and buy a cheap hotas that wouldn't get my anywhere so i started on controller then went and bought a stick and throttle
