The entire Aqui Agora segment left me speechless. EVERY person involved in making that knowingly agreed to everything that happened.

As someone who works in the railway industry, and received training for being on tracks where trains are actively running, it is genuinely alarming how little time you have to get out of the way of a moving train.

One thing that always annoys me is when people or media imply that you have plenty of time to get out of the way of a moving train, when in reality you have seconds, and even then your brain is likely to make the wrong choice.

Anytime you put yourself on the train tracks, your life is at risk.

Attempting to blame the railroad for what happened Is actually insane. I’m a railroad guy, and as soon as Nick mentioned the tracks, I knew what would happen. Guys, regardless of what it is you’re doing, filming, photographs, etc, do not trespass on railroad lines, regardless of wether you think they’re abandoned or not. As much as it hurts to say, the laws of the railroads were written in blood and bones. Stay safe. Great video as always Nick.

Seeing Sarah's parents try to turn things around for the better in their daughter's honor and seeing her not only honored by other filmmakers, but the academy itself made me so emotional. I'm happy her story had a positive outcome despite the tragedy.

Thank you for keeping Sarah's story out there Nick. As someone married to a 2nd AC like Sarah, keeping productions accountable by sharing these tragedies is super important. We lost another Camera department member 7 years after Sarah again due to production negligence. People shouldn't die at work.

One of the only creators where I immediately click on the upload as soon as I see it without even reading the title. Thanks Nick.

That whole Aqui Agora situation really pissed me off. You’re telling me these people willingly chose to sit there and film a girl’s suicide rather than take action and call for help?? They then go the extra mile and have the AUDACITY to conjure up a fake story for views, labeling the parents as abusive monsters as if they hadn’t cared dearly for their daughter. Geniunely fuck everyone who was involved in the production for that shit show, that girl could’ve lived had they actually cared enough to do something.

Hey Nick, how’s it going?

My grandfather was the president of SBT for almost 50 years and was in charge of the station when the "Aqui e Agora" segment in question aired.

I basically grew up inside what most Brazilians call "TV" and entertainment.

First things first: "Aqui e Agora" was one of the most absurd and tasteless TV shows ever broadcast. However, it was insanely popular and never fully discontinued, as new shows in the very same format would take its place. Right now, we have at least five of them airing on national TV in Brazil.

The case you studied is not one of the most gruesome or alarming. It was quite vanilla compared to other atrocities (in fact, if you’d like, I can list some of the most egregious ones).

As soon as I finished the video, I called my grandpa to tell him that this long-ago incident was being discussed on one of my favorite channels, and he shared a few details with me.

SBT was extremely close to many high-ranking police officers in São Paulo and most of Brazil as well. These officers would quite literally tip the station about events with the potential to spike ratings. They usually didn’t get their information via police radio frequencies, as other stations would also stay alert for anything there. The officers were much more reliable in terms of timing and rarely failed to deliver. Many of these officers became public figures with television shows of their own, and many more ran for public office—with generous support from SBT.

They would also share information before it became public. As it happens, the (false) reason for Danielle's suicide was provided by one of the most respected detectives in the country, who had full reason to believe it based on partial evidence he had gathered. As it turns out, he was also the one to discover that this theory was wrong—but not before tipping off the station, which aired it as truth, as they had done so many times before (and after).

Sadly, that made little difference. The format kept going and survives to this day—with the involvement of cops included.

Loved the video, love your content.

See ya!

"We may never truly know if Victor had just discovered his son *OR* his victim" that's a cold line.

The Xuxa Park Incident, the Eloa Pimentel Incident, the Balloon Priest and now the Aqui Agora. Nick Crowley really knows how to describe those darkest moments in Brazilian TV.

Good work, Nick.

The third one is so cruel. I can't imagine losing my kid and being falsely blamed for their death. Those Aqui Agora reporters are beyond despicable.

hi Nick! As a Brazilian, i just wanted to say: thank you so much for bringing light for these disturbing cases that happened here. Mental health issues are usually not taken serious by our population and government, specially in the 80's and 90's, it's really sad...

$1, 000, 000 isn’t nearly enough for that family. The entire film crew should be in prison. That’s maybe the most disturbing story I’ve heard on this channel.

You and Nexpo own this corner of YouTube. Keep up the amazing work. I learn so much from your videos. And you dont embellish the stories for entertainment purposes.

The Aqui Agora segment was so messed up. The camera crew didn’t even care about Danielle or her parents, they only cared about the fame and viewership they’d get from covering the story. And they lied about Danielle’s parents being abusive too? No wonder the show got pulled

The news crew story has to be the most rage inducing thing ever. First they record the young girls death, then they go over to the parents and blame them for Wtf
