As someone who decorates and sells cakes, a few tips for you:

1) The "rustic" buttercream was looking rather messy, even when you are doing an abstract/rustic look, it shouldn't look sloppy or messy. You should let the cake get back to room temperature so that the buttercream is soft and get it completely smooth first, then go in with a offset spatula to make the swirls so it looks rustic.
2)Colour theory is your best friend, most of the time, try to stick to a warm or cool undertone, your butterflies had cool undertones so the butter yellow icing just clashes and doesn't fit, i would recommend going for a neutral colour like beige or cool toned like light blue.
3) The pearls look very sloppy as well, remember, most rustic cakes are made to look perfectly rustic, instead of just throwing them around, place them on with tweezers for that perfectly rustic look.
4) Store bought cakes don't taste very good, atleast not to me. If you are doing this for practicing decoration, i would recommend buying one store bought cake and freezing it. It will go stale and won't be edible, but you can practice decoration for months before you have to buy a new one. Just decorate, play around, scrape the buttercream off and freeze. But if you are actually serving them and you don't like baking (which is completely fine), deconstruct the layers and add some kind of flavouring, you can do jam, ganache, chocolate, fresh fruit, custard etc etc. Adding a flavouring to an otherwise basic vanilla cake can improve the flavour a lot!

It’s cute, I personally like it, and you added your own to it. She literally did nothing to the original cake so it’s still gonna taste good. I think the pearls and the butterflies are actually cute being scattered around because butterflies wouldn’t actually land in a perfect pattern.
