Missed bug: In the beginning cutscene in "Big Smoke" where Carl looks at a photo of his mother who sadly died, you can see that the picture, while on the floor, clips through the ground. Should I mention that you can clearly see the photo in the original never did that?

It's just bafflingly unbelievable that it gets worse than this in the definitive edition.

This is straight up a mobile emulator with and skin over everything. That would explain all the bugs and visual glitches as well as the simplify mechanics.

I can only imagine how frustrating it is as a developer to see graphics and presentation that you crunched on being completely broken in a sloppy “remaster” for modern consoles.

I’m pleased you picked up on things like speed blur and heat haze - atmosphere is SO important and removing these simple features kills it.
