Is the car- and yes we are addicted to it - really the future solution for all our individual mobility wishes? What would your personal world look like if we find a solution that slows you down and creates a living environment that is more enjoyable? Jo Stenuit helps us imagine this world so car designers, cities, the industry and you can start building the future of mobility and ignite our rehab. Jo has been playing a significant role within the Mazda Design Management team to lift the brand to the near-premium design level it has reached, not only by generating award winning designs but also by contributing to the overall brand design image.

Autonomous driving cars of the future will be devices that get us from A to B while we work, play or sleep. So no more interesting to the user, or to the designer for that matter, than a household appliance like a fridge.

But that is only part of the functionality of a car. The reason why people like driving a car themselves so much is that a good car becomes an extension of your body. You experience the speed and the power and the agility and control to the full. This particular aspect of car functionality will always be required and will never go away. As electric digital cars with AI and plenty of driver aids defeat the purpose there will always be a market for analogue cars as we know them today.
