Financial Collapse Of Germany and the Euro Is Closer Than You Think!

Germany is headed for a period of political uncertainty and instability as Angela Merkel exits the German political scene. Like it or not, she has had an enormous influence on German and EU politics for over a decade and under her leadership the EU has been stable.

However, she is going. She does not appear to be a victim of mishandling the economy but has fallen on her own sword when she opened Germany's borders and by doing so exacerbated the rise of German nationalist interest, which had hitherto been smothered through a collective sense of guilt for Germany's role in History.

Now, that a 'cloud of political and economic uncertainty looms, there is great danger of a 'Euro Crisis II' breaking out. The German's are NOT going to fund a bankrupt Italy - Period, with Merkel gone. The real risk is the break up of the EU and guess what? Italy is probably going to be the 'nail in the EU and Euro coffin'!

Alternative für Deutschland is picking up here in Germany. They are sided to the right, however, it is very easy here in Germany to be accused of bieng a Nazi if you dont agree with the CDU/CSU/SPD

Sorry, forget the political the immediate problem facing Germany is Duetschebank. Currently market cap €15 billion and sitting on a $1 trillion of derivatives that have an actual resale value of tick-tick, tick-tick.

A clean break is needed...we have seen worse historically and we have prevailed. We will thrive. We need to leave now!!!

Sorry but how can a depressed Euro hinder exports? I imagine the direct opposite to be the case. The European countries exporting will see an increase in exports thus making the case that the Euro has only helped a strong exporter such as Germany. Had it not been for the Euro and cheap labour as a result of freedom of movement, Germany under the DM would be to strong; Germany goods would be too expensive. The EU helps Germany gain an unfair advantage at present.

Who would have thought a handful of countries supporting 20 other odd countries, whilst systematically and deliberately increasing their immigration quotas to unseen levels isn't sustainable.

The sooner the EU collapses the better for Europe to get back to self determination, this sort of consortium is to strict for country's to do what's best for their particular circumstances meaning some will succeed and others will fail as has happened with Greece, Italy and Spain plus others. If we leave without a deal this will be disastrous for their economies because they will lose a massive amount of business and it will be all the EUs fault for being so rigid in their approach to us leaving. The EU will desintergrate in months as the poorer country's feel the effects of the EUs stupidity but I suppose they will blame us.

I can feel it at my water, as we say it in Holland. The turmoil and unrest in many levels of European countries, be it political, social or economical, has brought me to the decision to return to my Dutch home and bide my time, watching the drama unfold. Not so much in Holland, I expect, for conditions are quite safe and comfortable.

It'll be confusion and drama in Britain, in Ireland even more maybe, and in the countries where the population is resentful, in protest and where economies are troublesome, with a growing gap between the rich and the poor.

When the storms of change have settled down, maybe after the EU has ceased to exist, or moved through a change for the better (but not with help from China please!) a second jump oversea may bring me to quieter and greener pastures near the Atlantic Coast, of Cornwall or Ireland. At least, I'll always have my home in Holland, to return to, when the going gets tough.

Germany is Europe. Lose the Euro and use the Deutchmark instead.

I remember the comedy show "Yes Minister", wherein Sir Humphrey was explaining the Foreign Office's wholehearted support for the EEC to the Minister. "It's very simple, Minister, " said Humphrey smoothly. "The FO is in favour of Europe because it is against Europe." Humphrey proceeded to explain that for centuries it has been Britain's key foreign policy to keep fomenting trouble in Europe, so that European powers could never combine together against Britain. It occurs to me that "this Brexit mess" might be a very clever move in that direction. While pretending to desire a strong Europe, the Tories might actually have conspired to effectively toss a hand grenade into the EU, with no way or time left now to catch it before it detonates. Maybe not. Maybe they are all just as stupid and craven as they seem to be. But it would be nice to think this is true. Perfidious Albion, after all. :-)

German living in the USA here. Often visit Germany. Seeing the dramatic changes in towns like Heilbronn and Wuppertal. I asked an influential women why German women choose not to have enough babies to keep the population steady. Answer? We see no promising future for our children. In comes immigration with dramatic changes to the structure and appearance of Germany. I asked my German boss where to invest my savings in 1982. He checked with his German financial advisers. Answer? Invest in USA. Best advise I ever got.
I do not offer suggestions just an observation over 60 years.
