These are great suggestions… I see that a tripod is never mentioned! Happy to see all your ideas are with hand held!

Great video. I will definitely set the two function buttons as you suggested. Thanks for sharing this tip.

Very helpful video. I already had the settings you recommended on my camera, but it was great to hear how you change metering and focus modes as a professional. More of that kind of content please!

Thank you for the tips.
I am searching for this great advice as I have barely got it out of the box and have not had a full size camera in decades.
These two settings will be invaluable in bird photography .

Great video. It might have been helpful to show what is happening in the viewfinder as you hit the fn button and make changes. instead of just seeing you hold camera up to your face. Just a suggestion. Very helpful info though

Sports without continuous back button focus seems strange? I use half press shutter for AE lock. Yup f1 is AF-area mode. f2 is grid for not crooked pics lol. Light meter is always set for blinkies but Z7II raw can pull massive shadows. Matrix is trusty.

Thanks for the tip, Joe! I use Fn2 to bring up the target box for tracking. So, Fn1 to change AF modes, then Fn2 to set up subject tracking. However, I love your suggestion to get metering on a custom button. Any suggestion for an alternate to Fn2 or Fn1?

Thanks for this video. For the z7ii what would be a suggestion for shooting kids soccer(settings)?

Thank you for your over tips, I have Q: I have Nikon z 6 II, Lens sigma 24-70 mm. Do I need to do the Autofocus AF calibrations ? Or any lenses from third party?

Thanks Joseph! I would like to have a fast-way to zoom in and out 100 %. Wy can't one for example choose the push on the I-button to do that?

For those spotlights on a specific person on concerts, I usually use the metering that is much derided by YouTubers nowadays: Center-Weighted. Works specially good for short to medium distances. I use Spot metering when afar.
