Applying to colleges is hard, especially if you want to get into a good school! But in the state of California, there is an easier way. UC universities such as UCLA and UC Berkeley are required to accept community college transfer students. The admission process is a lot easier and the acceptance rates are higher. So watch this video if you want some college admission advice! However, it's important to note on the UCLA website it says "we give highest priority to applicants from California community colleges and other UC campuses." Therefore, you'll probably have a higher chance of getting accepted if you're a Californian citizen. But there are some general college application tips in this video you can take away - especially the essay writing tips. I advise you to DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Don't let one YouTube video tell you how to live your life.

Thinking about college is just simply overwhelming as a high schooler, knowing that you might not get into your dream college. Watching this helps a lot :>

Lol this dude is so funny. He literally called his brother a potato but his brother graduated UCLA at 18 while he’s a junior at 19 lol.

Yes, as a former college counselor, I can confirm that a lot of your chances of getting in depends a LOT on your intended major. The more space in the major, the more transfers they accept.

Grade is overrated in 2020. As long as you have what It takes to success in your field you should be fine. I believe being able to teach yourself your major is better than grade, such as teaching yourself programming early.

Sometimes, the one who gets a job is the one who is the most prepared. I want to encourage everyone to enroll at California State University, Sacramento at a cost of $7, 400 per year. Take copious notes in all of your classes and memorize all of your notes the semester that you're graduating. You'll be able to ace any technical questions at a job interview. Someone from a high tuition university may get a job because they're more qualified, but you may get a job because you're more prepared.

I just got denied to all the UCs i applied to (UCLA, UCSB, UCDavis, and UCI) and I think that's because I didn't have enough units to transfer (need 60) at the end of this spring semester I'll have 54.. Also I did not finish my prerequisites as listed by Assist... Also my major is very competitive and I wrote my personal insight questions an hour before they were due. So I think I just did everything wrong... Now I know what NOT to do, ya'll take notes on what NOT to do lol -disappointed but not surprised cc student

This dude did a pretty good summary of navigating community college. His work ethic was insane though, that I don’t recommend. I dropped out of high school below a 1.0, got my GED, graduated from community college with a 3.96, 4 AA’s, multiple internships and positions and got into Cal, UC Davis and UC Irvine during the most competitive year of all time! What he didn’t mention was that two years of community college is a shit ton more cheaper than four years at these universities. Not to mention if you’re a California resident, 24 and older who make less than $80, 000 you qualify for the Blue and Gold plan. Which means the UC’s will give you a shit ton of financial aid. You also need to have a balance of extracurriculars. There’s plenty of great students academically, but why do you stand out above the rest? What do you do and what have you done in your free time?

As long as you got the grades, prioritize your essays and awards/extracurriculars section!

*I was only applied to UC’s and wanted to avoid out of state tuition. I’m very happy at Cal!

For maybe someone reading the comments, in hs I had below a 3.0 GPA. Yes I know its low, but my hs was top 20 in the state so everything was college prep and just harder. I studied hard yet the cards didn't fall into place. I now have a 3.65 GPA and have guaranteed admission to UCSB which has like a 4.0 GPA minimum for high school students. It's pretty crazy to think about how your life can just u-turn through hard work and persistence. UCSB isn't the top school on my list and isn't the best that I will get into which is even crazier to think. I hope everyone watching takes the time to research cc's to not only get into some of these schools but to save a lot of money too.

This is a wonderful video too! He is a smart guy.
