Why the hell do federal loans have interest in the first place ? In my country I get 800 euro per month and I only have to pay back half of that, obviously without any interest. And if I finish a master's degree after my bachelor's all the debt from my bachelor's is completely forgotten.

Lol! You only get 600%! and it never pays for the good colleges that will help you get a good career. The community colleges don’t even help you when you are struggling and if you fail or withdraw from classes you loose that money. I used up all my student loans and it took me nearly 20 years to get into an office and design job. Because this job pays to train, I wasted my time and money going to college, which I will never afford to pay back. My entry level design job barely pays the bills.
