It's ridiculous. The merit gap needs to be fixed at the grade school level, not by admitting less qualified students to universities. This will make the expensive rubber stamp diploma even less worth it.

Alot of people say Simpsons predicted the future but I'd argue Leela's comment about how 20th century colleges were pretty much adult daycares was pretty on-point.

Saagar should be more proud of his garb and not call it ridiculous. Be proud of your Indian heritage bro.

It's really simple at its core: These are not secular universities with a goal of creating a well-educated, technically competent society capable of advancing the sciences and benefiting from those advances - they are religious institutions that are interested solely in spreading their dogma. They have two purposes: Get as much government money as possible, and perpetuate a belief system that justifies them getting as much government money as possible.

Today: "We encourage people write about how DEI affects them personally to have a better chance at college admissions"
Tomorrow: "Oh look! Demand for DEI has risen by 5000% over the last 2 years!"

5:30, What is going to happen when people are sick is they will seek out Asian doctors. People will become more racist in choosing their services.

We are well on our way to "Idiocracy".

Among other horrors, the one that stands out was their excuse for rejecting qualified Asian candidates: « Uh, you have a terrible personality, kid. » What a goddamn disgusting thing to do to a young person. Not only are you taking away what they just worked for, tou’re undermining any attempts they might make to take an end route around your discrimination by stabbing them in the self esteem. I’m not Asian but so what ? It makes me sick.

Just graduated from a college in close proximity to Mt Holyoke College. I can say the indoctrination and one sided ideology is prevalent and intensely defended and implemented at most local colleges. Any dissenting views risk you being isolated by your peers and your grades being affected adversely (which can be justified a million different ways by the teaching staff.)

What’s even sadder and dumber is that none of this will move the needle for socioeconomic standing. AA does not (and has not) fixed the discrepancy in performance metrics or STEM enrollment between Asian/White students and “minority” student groups. And I suspect that the demand for skilled trades will vastly outpace the demand for Sociology and Communications degrees.

If Harvard weren't discriminating on other factors, the average SAT score would be much closer to 800 for all groups.
There's a debate to be had here about how "academic" Harvard really is. Are you hiring a Harvard grad for their brains or for their political connections?
When an institution like this is this good at producing top public officials, then the discrimination is up for public debate, as is the value of a Harvard degree.

I love that you are giving this monologue wearing that.

Defund these colleges and financial aid to the students.

The largest recipient of Affirmative Action is White Women who make up the largest demographics in college campuses. So getting rid of it was a good thing. However, we really need to do away with legacy admissions that actually weighs much heavier than affirmative action on your acceptance score at elite colleges. I saw a clip from the one Republican on the view, who I actually agreed with on this topic. That your address should be the factor in how your application is scored. Meaning people who reside in lower socioeconomic regions should have a few extra points in their admission scores. It would TRULY level the playing field. Frankly, I disagree with Saagar about the pre-college admission tests. I don't care if they score the highest on the LSATS or the MCATS. I care that the Dr. passed their medical boards and that the Lawyer passed their bar exam and how many years of experience they have. You're not getting into Harvard without a 4.0, it's more a matter of your accomplishments outside the classroom that impresses the college application board.

Anyone that is eager to bash Racial Admissions while ignoring why these standards were implemented *in the first place, * isn't a serious thinker.

DEI is a religious incantation. We should all cross ourselves when we say it.

"How will we know if we have the best doctors or lawyers?"

Hate to break it to you Saagar, but even the students that get into schools by checking the affirmative action box still have to graduate the program (and almost all of them have GPA requirements). Doctors still have to finish residency programs. Lawyers still have to pass the bar.

Stupid point my man.

Universities are also captured by gender ideology. When my son applied to University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, reporting SAT score was optional, but declaring pronouns used was mandatory.
