If that is true, doctors should be in jail for prescribing statins like candy.

Some years ago, my doctor put me on statins. Subsequently, I developed some weird symptoms. I had kaleidoscope light patterns in both eyes, breathlessness, and kept passing out and collapsing.

I stopped taking the tablets, and I returned to normal. Three months later, I told my doctor about the symptoms I had experienced, and immediately he told me to "Stop the statins !. Stop the statins "! He was very animated and in a panic. When I told him that I'd stopped them three months earlier, he was very relieved. Enough said.

My husband had taken a statin daily for 12 YEARS in 2015 when he had a heart attack. His cholesterol was 120 that day, and he got 4 stents. He quit statins the following year. He’s been Carnivore 6 years.

What I have read is that older people who do not have dementia have high cholesterol. Old folks who suffer from dementia have normal to low cholesterol. The brain loves fat.

20 years ago, using the data provided by the drug makers, I calculated that they would have to sell $2 billion of Lipitor to allegedly save one life. I countered that you could save more lives by putting in four-way stop signs at selected intersections.

When I was newly diagnosed as being type 2, the doctor wanted to put me on a statin, even though my cholesterol was barely over the limit. His reason? Because that was the diabetic "protocol." In other words, because I was now diabetic, a statin needed to be automatically prescribed. HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT?? I refused. Currently on the carnivore diet working to get my A1C down via diet. I plan to go see my new primary (a different physician) to see how my blood labs will look. (I've been on this WOE since early June.) Fingers crossed!

Proud of you Doctor Berry. Am a Dietician watching from Fiji 🇫🇯. My mother was told to take statin(simverstatin) by a doctor so I told her to put it in the trash and eat Omega 3[n-3 polyunsaturated fats] rich foods i.e. sardines/salmon/tuna/salmon/cod, omit Omega 6 fats(linoleic acid rich soybean oil, etc) in addition to reducing sugars/refined grains as much as possible

I had a blood test that read about 20 points higher than what the government says is acceptable for high cholesterol. I was already suffering from pain due to an inflammatory condition. I did not want to take that medication because it is known to cause body aches. So I refused it. I had enough pain. That was several years ago and I am still here. After a few years I went on a low carb diet and my cholesterol is normal. Now I am on a carnivore diet and I feel much better than I did several years ago.

Dr. Ken Berry, can you please cite where you're getting that information from? Just because I want to throw that back in my old clinics face.😊

What many people don't understand is that, for a Decade you'll potentially suffer more side effects than is worth a 'xtra' week of life, chances are you'll way more weeks on a PHD, hence why I refused the 'offer' of stating. Strange thing is, since adopting more Meat products as part of my diet I feel physically healthier, still gotta get me some exercise, but my rare diabetes has virtually disappeared, happy days, 😊👍

Statins also increase chances of diabetes per medical studies. It happened to my brother and my dad had muscle wasting.

If you do take a statin, you should take CoQ10 also which doctors never tell the patient. 🤔

I don’t recall who the New York heart surgeon was, but several years ago he said, “No woman should ever take a Statin.” I think that should be expanded to “No human should take a Statin drug.”

I had side effects that took over a year to recover from, after trying a statin for three months. Primary prevention. 😢 I wish I had known then what I know now!

My dr wanted me to take that Atorvastaron, which I took for 1 week, i was in so much pain in my shoulders, chest bone area, and hips, I stopped. When i advised my dr, she was not happy at all, but i was put on it as preventive, due to my type1 diabetes. Im doing great and my type diabetes is better as well on the meat diet, which was dia1 yr ago. She even admitted at my last lab ck, my cholesterol was pretty good. Without taking that statin.

There is a lot on this subject in Dr Malcom Kendrick's book "Doctoring Data", if anyone wants the articles and RCTs this is based on.

My husband was prescribed statins. His testosterone disappeared, his mental acuity disappeared, his memory disappeared, his personality drastically changed. I didn't even know he was taking it. After I found out, I made him stop. He's still not the same.

I took a Statin for 16 years and had a Stroke anyway. I threw them in the garbage because they made my joints hurt so bad. Now I take Burgamot and Berberine plus an EFA capsule. Hope I'm doing the right thing, it's been 6 1/2 years since Brain Stem stroke.
