As someone who has always had a love for art forms, you make me want to try my hand at videography SO badly. I’ve been feeling kind of burnt out because I’m double majoring in psychology and sociology so I haven’t been creating much of anything, but every time I watch one of your videos I can feel that itch to create something and I love it so much.

it's month 6 of solo backpacking for me and all this is spot on!! it's about striking the balance between pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and seeking comfort when you need it, and between reaching out to family and friends back home, connecting with new people, and relishing the freedom of being alone and anonymous.
two practical tips:
1. always visit the tourism office. free maps, quick way to see what's new or recommended to see in a city, and a guaranteed friendly face who (usually) speaks english and is always very knowledgeable!
2. look into homestays and volunteering! not always glamorous, but a great great way to experience a culture from an insider point of view. also more or less forces you to connect with new people if you (like me) really struggle socially and are looking to improve in that regard
