I solved myself and used the 2nd method (I think it’s more time-saving). Thanks for the lesson!

thank you, very nice, suggestion: make the equation x minus 6 = 5 times root x and square both sides, then x squared minus 37x plus 36 leads to x minus 1 in brackets multiplied by x minus 36 in brackets (vieta) and so on

How about moving 5x^1/2 to the right side and square both sides producing a quadratic equation equal to (x-1)(x-36). Thanks professor! I enjoy your videos!

Tu écris d'abord "√(x)=-1" et ensuite tu mets au carrée, ce qui donne "x=1", il n'y a rien qui te choque ?

Radical Equation Tricks: x – 5√x – 6 = 0; x = ?
x – 5√x – 6 = 0; x > 0
x – 5√x – 6 = (√x)^2 – 5√x – 6 = (√x + 1)(√x – 6) = 0; √x + 1 > 0
√x – 6 = 0, √x = 6; x = 36
Answer check:
x – 5√x – 6 = 36 – 5(6) – 6 = 0; Confirmed
Final answer:
x = 36
