The "what can I pick up for you" instead of "do you need anything/do you want me to get anything" is SUCH an important distinction, too. You're showing you've already made the decision to help, not just being polite etc.

It’s important to have a good support network. Foster parenting is 24/7 it’s exhausting some days. Gracelessly accept any help your family and friends offer.

This video gives me nostalgia for a sense of community I’ve never even had. *sigh*

I know this isn’t the same; but I’m About to become an auntie- these were helpful examples of I could potentially help my sister as a first time mom!

I would add on to the "Ask how they are doing" tip - choose the timing of when you ask this. For me, I don't like to be asked how I'm doing when I am in crisis management mode. I am trying to focus on the essentials and get through the crisis. But in a calmer, safer time, do please check in.

Watching her look at a monitor to become trauma informed while I’m looking at a monitor to become trauma informed was a bit meta. Lol

To be honest, a lot of these should apply to families in general. Of course it’s incredibly important for foster parents to have a good support network, but it’s also important to other parents.
Be supportive of each other, whether it’s foster parents, adoptive parents, single-parents and others.

I am not a foster or adoptive parent. I find your videos so soothing. To know that humans like you exist is very comforting. I use your videos to reparent myself and to learn how to be a better parent. Thank you 😊

I've been watching a lot of your content lately. I'm having thoughts about becoming a foster parent when I'm more stable, so you have been a huge help. Thank you for all you do!

This applies honestly to any kind of carers. I’m a single parent and nothing has shocked and saddened me more these past three years than seeing zero of my family show up like this. So many friends have made us family, though, and I’m so grateful to them.

I love your informative videos. I’m just a mom of grown kids but I work in a school and I know not all kids have ideal environments at home. Your tone, your word choice and so many different circumstances help so much! Thank you for the resource.

No foster experience but she truly love those kiddos! Thankful for people like her. Hope to be thoughtful like this too one day.

Yes!! This is also going to be good for my girlfriend and I to do since we're planning to foster teenagers, so doing these can give us a little taste of it before we go all in.

You are literally an angel 👼 Laura. I’m not even going to do anything like fostering BUT I watch all your videos because learning how to be kind to myself from you. I was not given support the way you offer it and I am grateful for learning how to respect and love myself seeing how you treat the children.

Would you be willing to share some of your foster fail moments and how you figured out how to do better the next time? I think this might be helpful.
