We had elderly neighbors when I was a kid. My brother and I were expected to shovel their snow every time we did ours and we better not even think about accepting anything.

So, we would have to sneak over, shovel their snow, and run away so they didn’t try to pay us.

The last one reminded me of when I was 15-16yrs old. It was my first day at a new school after being forced to move to Tacoma, WA. It was my first time going to school in a big city and I missed my school bus home because I didn't know where they were parked I walked home when I saw the busses last second when I thought my first day couldn't get worse it started to rain. I asked at least 3-4 people for directions.
The last person I asked was a lady in a car she asked me where I was headed and when I told her she said, "Get in baby I'll give you a ride." I still think about her to this day and even though I don't believe in any faith, I always pray she lives a good life.

I can relate to the first one. Older Brother, despite his Ranger having Goblinoids as a Favored Enemy, ended up being the peacemaker between them and the party on several occasions, as he knew their language. Having Proficiency with Persuasion, which was doubled dur to Canny, and improved further with Fay Wanderer helped, despite his Charisma stat being just 8.
