Como brasileiro, eu não sei o que estou fazendo aqui. Mas é muito interessante essa parada de ver um gringo te explicando, em inglês, como falar sua própria língua

Im from Angola a country in África who also speaks portuguese! And we learn English at school or French it depends we can choose wich one we wanna learn! And even portuguese been my native language a always thought that portuguese was way more harder than English to learn speak and write. There is just too many rules in portuguese grammar, u can learn how to speak for Basic communication sure but to speak properly with all the rules thats a totally different level!

I do not know about if it is the most difficult language to learn. All I know is that Portuguese is the language of my heart.

Something that I've felt you missed is that in portuguese, you can answer a question with a verb, rather than Yes or No, and this is pretty common in informal language. For example, if someone asks you: "Você foi para praia no final de semana" rather than answer "Sim" you can simply answer "Fui", which is the past perfect tense of the verb "Ir"

Acho que o mais difícil no português BR devem ser as gírias e neologismos, a gente usa Heheeh Às vezes mesmo pra gente é difícil de entender, principalmente quando viajamos pra outros estados. Acho nossa língua e suas variações maravilhosa ❤

É muito interessante ver como vocês enxergam nossa língua e fico feliz em ver destacado neste vídeo a quebra de estereótipos sobre o que é o Português brasileiro. Ótimo vídeo.
It is very interesting to see how you see our language and I am happy to see this video highlight the breaking of stereotypes about what Brazilian Portuguese is. Great video.

Foi maldade mandar as pessoas falarem otorrinolaringologista, até alguns brasileiros se atrapalham com esta palavra. 😂 A propósito, eu também amo o Brasil 🥰

Thank you for pointing that out(0:30)!! That's a really common misconception about Portuguese and Spanish.. a lot of people misguided by ignorant Youtubers and influencers seem to think that the difference is akin to British and American English but Portuguese and Spanish are WAY MORE different that it might appear!! To the point that a lot of times they are actually mutually unintelligible phonetically..
i live in Rio and remember a party that I went at a local bar and some of the birthday person friends' were Argentinians..and they simply couldn't understand our portuguese and neither me their spanish...we had to actually talk in English!!! That's how different the pronunciantion and phonetic are!!
That's why not only if you try to speak Spanish in Brazil people would find it offensive but they actually just wouldn't understand you at all!!

I AM A CHINESE IN MACAU, MACAU WAS A PORTUGUESE CAPTURED CHINESE CITY FROM 1846 TO 1999. I DO NOT KNOW PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE. BUT AFTER WE GET INTO OUR OWN COUNTRY, CHINA, MORE PEOPLE IN MACAU LEARN PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE. IT IS BECAUSE WE ARE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN CHINA AND PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE COUNTRIES

Que legal!
Sou do Brasil e acho muito interessante ver como as pessoas de outros países percebem o nosso idioma.
Só senti falta do exemplo de troca da ordem das palavras, por exemplo: "carro azul" -> "blue car"

I have a Brazilian wife and we travel to both Portugal and Brazil. As a native English speaker I find Brazilian Portuguese much easier to understand and pronounce than the European dialect. There are also word differences (just like US and British English have): one small example, for ‘girl’ one hears ‘rapariga’ in Portugal, but usually ‘moça’ or ‘menina’ in Brazil. Also, while the regional accents vary widely between areas of Brazil, I found the regional accents in Portugal to be very, very diverse. In fact, I agree with other commentators here that to the English speaker some European Portuguese accents sound more Russian than that of a Romance language.
