Serato Play in Serato DJ Pro 2.1. Is offline mixing worth it? Things to know BEFORE BUYING.

With the new Serato Play Offline Mix mode available, is it worth the 39$ to play offline. My thoughts on it with examples for offline play and alternatives to Serato Play

Hey, this can actually be used for radio DJs that need to record a mix for a station while they’re on the road. Sometimes, we do pre-recorded mixes that are used for stations that are not mixing live. Prior to, we used Mixmeister to do a quick 30-minute mix. I understand your point as far as being able to do the same thing with the offline mode. But, sometimes having the extra bells and whistles can be helpful for us radio DJs who need to submit a mix.

The nudge is (T)and(Y)for the left deck and (G)and( H) for the right deck. And you can use the right and left arrow keys at the bottom right for the crossfader.

Nice Video Terry. Question. Is there anyway in Serato to change the pitch % from 8+, . Maybe to 10+, 16+ or even 50+??

Scratch live was a hardware based company. Serato DJ a software based company. Through software they found a way to make those incremental dollars

Another great video. It's not just Serato. They could choose to ignore it but they don't want to get in trouble with ASCAP and the licensing companies. DRM (Digital Rights Management) is a way for the labels to try and control the rights. It's one thingy to be able to play and another to record it. Yes, you're 100% right that it's easy to rip it anyway but that doesn't mean that they can just give up and give it away. While sure it's easy to just hit record, you can still use any one of those other methods to record. I think it's bogus too that Serato implemented DRM but they want to keep good faith with the license companies. So playing is promotion but recording is a possible steal. So if you want to record you sets with the streaming services, just use any one of the thousand things that can record in the background like Audio Hijack or Sound Cap et.al... Love the vids. Keep it up and thanks for not selling out and telling Dennon they are great or Serato it's not a cash grab. Keep it up. It will pay off in the end.

Its good for recording with out hardware. Set up your samples before you go to play

I definitely agree with you especially with the recording function that should have been built into Serato Pro no matter what especially for charging for it. I Came From Scratch Live days and I truly miss some of the effects and how the software worked. Even though other software gives you this for free when it comes down to it Serato hands down is the best live DJ software. I have used them all and it has never failed me plus with the pitch in time plug in there is no comparison. Definitely Serato has changed the game when it comes to the cash grab and I think they should be a little bit more loyal to their user base but unfortunately I think there's so many controllers out there now they saw a good opportunity to make a lot of money it's not like it used to be where you bought an SL1 or an SL 3 hooked up your turntables and that was it

You can still record with a 3rd party such as audacity but you are correct serato are being a bit cheap 😉

Im looking for Serato Dj's EQ but unfortunately it doesnt have and the painful thing is that Serato is the one that sounds the best of all these softwares ive seen that

Virtual DJ has been able to do this from the beginning. Oh yeah, without charging extra. Even on the free home version. 😶

Hey Terry ever since Serato joined with Pioneer they became Commercial Nickel and Dime us. Once Pioneer got all there software ideas and came out with rekordbox they have been shady. To me simple is better too much software plugin make your computer run slower. That's why Serato Scratch was great simple and easy.

Thanks for your videos. Always very informative, . You want to record streaming services, use Y jacks from your output of the controller and use a external recorder. Used to do it with Spotify and my Pioneer Wego 3 with my ipad.
