They will just add a molecule somewhere and call it a different name and restart the pollution. Welcome to the wonderful world of corporations

Yeah, the problem is that if you ban pfas'es, there is not going to be something to replace them with. Imagine a firefighter going into a burning house without his suit that protects him from fire. He will have a suit, but without protective materials. Or, if suits of formula 2 drivers and the pit crew can't protect them from fire. Yeah, they could ban them from some things such pans for cooking and then wait for something else to be created, but they won't be able to ban it from everything.

if we ban it for non essential use, that'll be a large load off the accumulation already.

so we can keep using it where there's no replacement yet, and once there is, remove the exception.

thereby creating massive research incentives as any patent replacing pfas will be effectively mandatory

That moment when we have to go back to our roots and just use leather and processed tallow and bees wax because its sustainable if done correctly.

There isn’t a spot in the world where forever chemicals aren’t present, chem factories should pay for their mess.

Well im sure it will necessary in some industrial uses, but we don't need to be wearing and digesting it like we do. If you learn how to use cast iron, it truly is the best cookwear.

Generally, I would prefer from an excise tax over a ban of there is no alternative. In this case, banning it from the textile industry might be a good idea.

Of course, what do i know? Im from the US

A message to the "trust the science" crowd .. please question "the science " . 20 years ago they told us that hydrogenated oil was a "healthy alternative" to butter . Now hydrogenated oil is illegal in many countries because it's known to destroy health. 20 years ago one would have been considered "anti science " for saying hydrogenated oil is bad . Follow the money, question the science
