I am loving the video editing channels supporting each other. I don't see this in other communities, but I am here for it!

This is an awesome video. 🔥👏 It answers so many questions, the comparisons and how to’s are so helpful and the footage of the panel is really nice too. Thank-you for linking to our video. I knew we should have included a dog in ours! Dope! Next time.

got it last week. I will say 2 things I dont like. one, I wish the top knob labels were backlit, and number 2 - as you mentioned, I was actually quite surprised that the ipad version didnt work properly, which I never heard mentioned. they made the thing with a slot for the iPad yet it doesnt work yet. personally I think they shouldve held out until it did, or at least make it VERY Clear it was still in the works. . I spent an hour trying to figure out WHY it wasnt working until someone on a forum mentioned it.

Lastly my bluetooth ALWAYS needs to be "forgotten" and set back up. never reconnects. Tip time: Hold the two shift buttons down and rotate the top left knob (Y lift)to adjust the backlight strength (found out by accident). also both shift keys and "offset" gets you to log. Thanks for the review, as always top notch. have a great Sunday my friend.

This makes me think: I love the feel of real sliders and buttons when making music...because it makes me start to use my "ears" rather than staring at levels and settings and such. I wonder if it's the same for a color panel, you start to use your "eyes" more - rather than stare at the scopes and values. 😁 I'm going to have to try this one out!

Super interesting & helpful insight from someone who isn’t a full-time colorist for folks who similarly aren’t full-time colorists. Thanks a bunch!

This micro panel is much better than the old one and has features that give us a glimpse of the future with Blackmagic panels - the shift up/shift down effectively gives us three times the functionality without more buttons or knobs. I have to give it three 👍👍👍

Easter Egg: hold two shifts and rotate the first knob to adjust the backlight :P

Background: I'm a video editor but I'm getting into color so I've only been using davinci for the last couple of months and color grading for a few weeks.

That being said, I'm pretty happy overall with it. I've had mine for about a week and I really, really like it. It's small but really powerful and well built, and it has MOST of the features that the big boys have. It's intuitive and easy to learn. Working with wheels is just miles faster and better than using a mouse and keyboard. I think the idea is to have DITs and colorists be on set to actually see the design live. This can easily fit in a bag. There IS a learning curve, and the instruction manual is pretty useless...they need to just put out a keyboard map on one page showing what every key does...but it's been pretty easy to figure out what's what just by guessing.

Excited to fully learn it and get my muscle memory under my fingers and really up my color game.

And it was nice that I meet you at the Davinci Resolve live Tour in Amsterdam at 14/5.

Haven't had much of a chance to play with mine but I was bummed out I didn't come with a Studio license like some other Blackmagic devices.

I have the speed editor and it really helped out my Cut/Editing flow. Now, I am going to get the Micro panel to do color grade the professional way. This video have been really helpful in making the decision to get one. Thanks for sharing.

What a great summary! I love love love the speed editor and I have no doubt this would step up my color grading game. I hope they add a micro fairlight panel next!

Tried the panel on the Live Tour in Amsterdam. Great little panel! Eventually I might get one myself.
It was awesome to meet you in person!

Thanks. You just saved me a ton of fussing - by mentioning "auto colour". As someone with different colour vision in each eye I'll never be a colourist so that option does a good enough job for me.

Yesterday I also tried it at the BMD experience day in Amsterdam, I loved it and I think I will get one eventually.

Also saw your presentation, very neat but I think the cutpage only works well with the speed editor (which I also own). Wanted to hi but saw you where quite buzzy. Thanks for this video, it makes even more clear I want one ;-)
