Tuesday I was given my child’s diagnosis and they said he has severe autism, I shut down and cried in denial .
I went crazy looking for things about autism . I then came across something regarding virtual autism, I then realized there hope and I can do better for my child and better educate myself to better understand my child .
This video has really helped me so much and all the signs you pointed out are the the things my child does .
So far two days without screen time and he’s doing great.

One more sign is that they didn't have symptoms before screen exposure.

🥲I feel so guilty. I went through extreme postpartum depression and allowed too much screen time 😞. Ty for giving me some hope that change is possible. I’ve prayed for answers.

I can't describe my feeling after watching this video, you are truly a life saver, from many days I start to think my child is real autistic because of my family background. I am the mother, but after watching these signs of virtual autism. I am 100percent sure my child has VA not ASD. Thank you so much. Looking forward for more ideas from you

YOU ARE AMAZING!! I love your energy and your honesty.

My son is recovering well from VA I wish more parents would be open minded to admit that early and excessive screentime is the roots of their child asd/adhd symptoms.

I detoxed my 3 year old from screen time. If has been two weeks! I spend more time wirh her, play with her, go out more. Her vocabulary, her communcation has changed, we are still working on teaching her to use "I want, I like, yes, more.." simple phrases that younger kids use. Instead of screen, she has found a love for books. We read books together, talk about the story, the pictures. She still has some echolalia but I am hoping that it will fade with time. TV is off all day long, phones are away, she has forgotten about the tv and no longer requests it.
Loved this explanation, it explained a lot of what happened to my little girl.

100 % agree, I see this time after time as a speech therapist especially with 2 and 3 year olds. My biggest clue is when a child has their own iPad/phone. There is no reason for that. The world is a fun beautiful stimulating place.

i am so relieved i found this video. my daughter is 6 years old and i have noticed so many red flags but had no idea what it was. autism is diffnt then what shes displaying and symtoms are begining to worsen as she is getting older. screen time is an issue i have not been good at regulating and it has become an every day all day obsession. she melts down for almost no reason and has repetative words and noises even body movements that started to happen around 4. her symtoms lesson when the screen is not around and shes involved in something she wants to do but it doesnt take long to start asking for it after. her sleep is also begining to lsuffer and wakes me up 2 ton4 times a night to restart hr movies from tv in room im so happy i have hope now but also i am upset with myself it is me i did this. thank you i know what it is and i can reverse it im thrilled.

My son was 3 when he was diagnosed with level 3 autism (also during pandemic) and now at 5 he request things, talks, goes to the restroom by himself since 3, he initiates play with his sisters, if hungry or hurt he will let me know, imagination play. He will request iPad and when i take away their is no problem, he needs help openening something he asks for help opening . When he asks for iPad and i say not right now let’s play he’s ok and will going back to playing. He even invites me to play. Should i get him reevaluated or just leave it as is? He doesn’t show any symptoms that concern me. Just speech delay but he has improved so much.

Hi, my child socialize well with family and familiar person. Speak only words sometimes 2 words. But not responding to strangers well. Responds to Strangers only when I'm there with her. Opens her mouth wide when ever she is excited. Is this virtual autism. Now we made her screen time to 0 and giving more interactions and therapy.

Since autism is a spectrum. It's very hard to tell but yes, my son who is under virtual autism diagnosis asks for help and initiates communication.

Thank you for this amazing video!
My son just turned 19 months old ( bilingual family). I can relate to these points but what actually triggers me is that he says one word repeatidely, on his own and with joy. Whenever he sees a "marbel " He says it loud and responds repeats this Word after me without even having a marble around!
That's not the case for other words. That is deeply puzzling 😢 cant figure out this.
Stopped screens hoping to hear him say all the words inside!❤

My 15 month old has a very bad stim a sort of spasmatic/seisure like.. sort of throws arm in air & shakes leg when ever she is excited or overwhelmed can it be VA..
Unfortunately she has been extensively exposed to t.v.. feeling like a horrible mom !!

I have a 5 year old that watched tv hours a day since he was 2. He didnt have alot of the classic signs of autism. Except repetitive speech, jargon and delayed speech, some eye contact issuews. He gets focused on tv and then will repeat or act out the show constantly. He does all 5 of the signs of virtual autism. He also asks for tv he will bring me the controller and say mom watch tv, heres the controller. He plays with his brothers and tries to have conversations with them. Do u think 5 is still treatble if screens are removed?
