Half-Life: Alyx Hands-On! Tested on 8 VR Headsets

We've played some Half-Life: Alyx! Tested spent a day playing Valve's upcoming full-length VR game across 8 different headsets to evaluate how the game looks and plays on devices ranging from the original HTC Vive to Oculus Quest. We show how the game's various mechanics work with different motion controllers and explain the trade-offs between different VR systems.

When I was 15 I went to Seattle for my Birthday and I got to tour Valve. This was during some Dota World Championship so a lot of people were gone but the tour was still awesome. When I got back to the lobby I noticed a room full of people in what looked like a meeting. After asking the lobbyist she let me sit in the lobby for a bit. When the meeting room door opens who else comes out but Gabe Newell. He took a picture with me gave me a hug and asked what my tour was like and what I thought of everything. It was amazing!

Glad the game has smooth free locomotion. I cannot do teleport motion at all anymore, it disorients me entirely and makes me feel less mobile. Glad they have teleportation for people who need it though.

Love it - it's good to see Valve try to include so many different manufactures of headsets. Valve could have made it to work best with the Index, but it really seems that Valve is betting on VR and trying to get more users into it.
