I worked at Bellagio for almost 20 years. 2001 til 2020. Many great memories and people that work there. The days of no resorts fees, free parking and “ looser” slots are over as we all know it. Bellagio has always been pricey, but I hate to see how much pricey it has become. Great video and thanks for the detailed info. Still an amazing hotel 👊🏻

Resort fees are the worst. I was staying at a real nice hotel in Boston. When checking out, I noticed a hefty resort fee on the bill. I asked what the resort fee covered and the reservationist said it was for use of their pool. It was winter and the pool was outside. Nobody is swimming outside in Boston during the winter. The fee was mandatory but obviously they were price gouging. It got me so mad.

Great video. I like the way how you broke down your cost to your viewers.

Thanks for sharing the expenses and details of your trip. It looks like you had a great first class time. Several years ago I spent a month in Europe visiting seven different capitol cities. I stayed in AirBnBs and shopped for food out of local grocery stores. I flew varying cheap airlines over to and around Europe and my all in cost was around $3000 or around $100 a day. I had a great and memorable time too.

Stayed at Bellagio in March to celebrate my 53rd Birthday. Had a fountain view king for $249, and ate at Spago with my girlfriend, $180 with tip.Gorgeous hotel, fantastic service! Had a wonderful time!

I've seen some of your earlier videos off and on and thought they were good and informative. I just saw your 2 most recent videos (this, and the other overall Bellagio review). This one was very informative and great. I really like and appreciate the cost break down. No one else really does that. Great video!! 👍

Fun to watch. I went to Bally's on the cheap in July. I can live vicariously watching your videos.

I’m in the MGM Rewards plan (free), I regularly stay at Bellagio for $47 a night (resort fee only). I don’t gamble a lot, but they track it, and send me comped rooms (2 comped nights at Bellagio). I also get a $50 food/dining credit that I regularly use at Sadelle’s for breakfast. Sadelle’s is expensive, but my $80 breakfast - $50 dining credit = $30 breakfast!

Awesome video, all your videos are great. They helped me pick Palazzo and Bellagio for my next trip in a couple weeks

Love these videos. An 8 course meal at this level for instance is something I will unlikely ever experience. My unsophisticated palette may not even enjoy the food as much as an experienced gourmet diner. At the very least I can experience it vicariously.

For most working class people like myself, this vacation would be out of the question. Back in the '80's' I was in Vegas for 4 days and all I remember paying was a very reasonable room rate, no taxes (that I can remember) or resort fees. These days with the numbers of people wanting to go to Vegas they can pretty much charge what they like and people will pay it. $100 - $200 per meal ? I don't think so, reckon its a week in Spain for me !

I have no idea how much it cost to stay at Bellagio. We stayed there, usually, twice a year for almost 20 years. We rarely paid for our rooms or restaurants. They always upgrade us to a suite because we brought our young son. Always had a great time there!

I got to diamond status at Caesar’s and MGM tier matched me. So I save so much from either places. My recent stay at Bellagio was completely free and the $300 deposit came back quickly.

Greetings Sir James….thankfully I’m a MGM gold member so most of my nights are comped . On my stay at Bellagio last month I only paid $200 total for 7 nights in a Tower Fountain View King room with the new decor but still with the soaking tub and water closet . Of course I drop a pretty penny gambling so they make their money 💰 lol . Great video . It’s awesome to see your subscriptions climbing ..26k and counting my friend 😎😎😎

Room rates at Bellagio can fluctuate wildly, and weekend stays can be outrageously expensive. However, there are 2 steps a person can take that will reduce the cost of rooms. First, as others have mentioned, get the MGM Rewards card (formerly known as M Life), and use it when gambling. I’m not a high roller, budget a maximum of $2, 000 for gambling on a 4 or 5 night vacation and bet anywhere from $1 - $3 a spin. MGM seems to value the repeat visitors with lower budgets, as my offers are 3 to 4 nights comped, depending on the property, plus free play and a f&b credit. Heck, my brother who plays penny slots at 50 to 75 cents a spin and is at the lowest MGM Rewards level gets offers for 3 nights free. Plus, they offer reduced rates for nights not covered by a comp. For example, I have a stay booked for September: 3 nights free, Friday priced at $149 (regular rate $685) and Saturday at $82 (regular rate $535.) And this is during an NFL weekend! Of course, those terrible resort fees still apply.

Second, get the MGM Rewards MasterCard. There is no annual fee, and by using that card to pay for your stay, you earn additional points on your Players Club account. I room charge my f&b, retail and other charges from all MGM properties, and pay the whole bill off right away. Sadly, the recent changes to their players card benefits have reduced this benefit, but hopefully negative customer feedback will convince MGM to adjust this. Still some extra benefits are better than none.

My food costs are much lower than yours because I get a lot of my meals off-site and because I rarely drink alcoholic beverages. 😱🫣🫢 Having Cosmopolitan and Planet Hollywood close by helps keep those costs down, plus Park MGM has nice value options and can be easily accessed via a tram. I do like both Sadelle’s and Cafe Gelato at Bellagio.

One of my biggest complaints about Bellagio - the ridiculous prices for water, soda and sundries at their retail outlets - has been resolved with the CVS and Walgreens both now available across the street. 👍

Another excellent, informative video!

I am kicking myself for never staying at the Bellagio many years ago when i was offered free nights stay. It has always been my favorite hotel to visit every time i come to Vegas.

Hi, now I went during the COVID era to the Bellagio. I stayed in a King suite with a dog. My room was only $150 a night and that was with pet fee on new years eve. It was a remodeled room with steam shower and had 3 bathrooms. No coffee pot and no fancy robes. We had room service delivered for the 3 nights we stayed at around $60/ 85 for 2 meals. I'd say my whole trip with room service/ hotel was around $850.00 we didn't eat in the hotel restaurants we gambled about $200 but broke even and left about a $50 tip for cleaning. So I guess I did good on my trip/ honeymoon compared to your costs.

James I have reservations at The Mirage next week. 3 nights comp plus $50 resort credit & $50 free play $50.00 Birthday Free play and 100.00 My Vegas Rewards free play. Resort fees add up to 138.00 although I'm likely to upgrade the room so there might be an $ uptick there although I am checking in on my actual birthday and have dozens of previous visits to The Mirage so I'm hoping for a free upgrade. You did it right at Bellagio and The La Cirque dinner vlog was completely off the hook. My big dinner out will be The Bacchanal Buffet so even that pales in comparison to any of your meals at Bellagio. If I see you expect me to say hi. Jimmy V

The resort fees are really something. When we were at Paris in May, they were $49.99+tax for basically wifi. We usually stay off Strip at the M Resort, and those fees are only $24.99+tax. Besides wifi and 2 bottles of water per day, it also covers shuttle service to/from the airport or the Strip. Feels like you are actually getting something for the money. Have you stayed at the M before, James? I would be interested in seeing a video on your thoughts about it one day. Thanks again for another informative, even if expensive, video.

So I’m just an ordinary person who has occasionally been to some of the top hotels in the world - Shanghai, Beijing, Vienna, Australia, New York but I’ve never stayed at the Bellagio (although I’ve visited many times). The others had real class - the Bellagio tries to have real class but always seems more Disney than Shakespeare. This video confirms it.
