2023 was a great year for horror movies, with many actors delivering some special performances.

Tobin Bell in Saw X. I know, he's played the role of Jigsaw for nigh on two decades now, but he was absolutely at his best in X.

One of my faves of 2023 was Paulette Hernández as Valentina in Saw X. For the short amount of time she was in the film, she is easily one of the most memorable parts. Her trap is excruciating and she sells it so well. And kudos to the actress for filming scenes using a real saw against her real leg (with protective padding) to give it that extra practical realism. That first scream, oof, it went straight down my spine.

Alyssa Sutherland WAS Great in "Evil Dead Rise" (2023), though I've NEVER heard ANYBODY describe the The Evil Dead remake from 2013 as "UNDERWHELMING".

I'm delighted that Sophie Wilde got a mention, as she was phenomenal in Talk to Me but Joe Bird's performance was off the charts for such a young actor and his character was involved in some of the most disturbing and horrifying scenes in any horror movie that I've seen of late.

Although it wasn’t really scary I really did love ‘No One Will Save You’. I told my coworkers about it and everyone in the office watched it and we all talked about it for a couple of days. Made my friends watch it too and I didn’t hear anyone say anything bad about it.
