The 22A puts NO LIMIT on the LENGTH of a presidential term. Trump will claim this to be “only his second term” until the day he dies, so the sooner that happens the better.

There could very well be a workaround for a president to *serve* a third term, since the 22A says that a president can't be *elected* to a third term. However, the 12th amendment says that no one constitutionally ineligible to the office of President can be eligible to the office of Vice-President. But again, does ineligibility for *election* to president necessarily mean ineligible to *be* president? This seems valid in theory, but there would certainly be legal and political obstacles to any such effort, and I seriously doubt it will ever be attempted.
