10lb quality braid is extremely strong, and more than enough for most people, especially coming from monofilament. 50lb braid is thick, and strong enough to pull your truck out of the mud, should you get stuck.

I think the people hating in the comments dont know how to fish. Braid is a great thing if you learn to use it properly. Took me a while but it is almost all i use for all techniques. Fish will bite if there is food. Yes, i have used 65lbs braid on bluegill and they bite just fine. Try it if you don't believe me. And that brand is decent and not expensive for those complaining about that. Best wishes to you and your family.

Haha I use 20lb braid for summer white bass, can cast a 1oz lure pretty far.

Been using that line for almost 2 years. No knot fails, no break-offs (unless I had to cut the line) definitely cosign the reaction tackle braid. Their jigs arent too bad either. Not the best, but good for the price.

With braided line on baitcasters i reccomend 30lb atleast. Anything less will dig into the spool since its so thin and end up snapping or more frequent birdsnest, anything thicker then 40 is good for frogging or smashing thick brush or weeds. Its alot thinner then mono so you can afford to up the lb with no sacrifice of weight or diameter up to a certain test

I ditched mono as soon as I could and i use a baitcaster so you can really feel everything and i mean everything that happens at the end of the line, i can tell what fish just bit the bait and i can set the hook more efficiently

I can tell when the jig hits the bottom, when it gets stuck on something ( even without moving it i know), sometimes i swear I can feel a fish swimming by

Braided line is awesome

Everyone saying "50 pounds is overkill" come fish some ponds up here.. when a bass takes you deep into the lilys, or a snapping turtle gets interested in your bait you're going to wish you had something heavier on.

anything under 30lb braid frays so bad it just irritates me. not even worth going under 30 lb if you use braid

Obviously depends on what you are fishing for, but 50 lbs is excessive. I fish 15 lb braid cause the line diameter is equivalent to like 4 lb mono, I forget exactly the conversion. It cast a lot smoother. I use a fluorocarbon leader too so the fish are not as likely to see the braid. I can fight a much bigger fish with the drag and the rod, but if I get hung up, breaking that 50 lb line off is tough

I use 20lb braid on my regular bass/walleye rods
40lb 50lb or 80lb when exclusively targeting big musky

I'll use a fluorocarbon leader if I'm dropshotting or something..sometimes

Been running braid with a healthy leader for quite a while! Favorite Bass rig is running 30 pound braid to a 6’ leader with 10lb fluorocarbon. Love it!

Hi vis braid with leader is amazing for watching them swim off or hit your senko, even tell if its on bottom.

Never used it going to try it what’s the best size just for crappie or panfish using 1/16 to1/4 jigs on bait caster I’ve tried spider wire once on 1 of my caster and the backlash will kill a day😂

I have 75lb braid on both my main spinning and baitcaster setups. Its some awesome stuff. The reason for 75lb is because i fish for musky a lot but when i go for trout and stuff like that i just tie on a 3ft fluorocarbon leader and they still bite great. Im never going back to mono. Been using braid for years and its saved me a lot of lures and a lot of fish that would have broke me off.

Power pro braided line has always worked best for me, I’d give it a try

I fish 20lb braid on a set up and have no issues, 50lb is kinda an over kill for an everyday use. Yes maybe for top water but still lol… invest in a few more set up’s and fish fluorocarbon.

50 is THICC. i generally run 20lb high vis braid to a barrel swivel and a 15lb fluro leader. idk what your fishing or where but 50 is way too heavy for crappie perch and bass around here haha
