It's so satisfying to see a cow go from flinching at every touch to relaxation after the pressure is gone. That has to feel even better than removing a splinter

I'm a mechanic, I have blackened fingernails more times then I can even remember.
If you have ever had a bad one and had a hole put in the nail to relieve the pressure you know the relief I am talking about. You can't sleep because of the throbbing, you just touch it and tears in your eyes. A few minuets with a finger nail drill (or a red hot paper clip when medical aid is not available) and instant relief.

I imagine the cows get the same relief once the pressure is taken off the hoof.

Straight to the point. Concise. Informative. No extra pointless footage. No dragging viewers through your personal life. No sappy annoying music. Of all the hoof trimmers I’ve watched, you’re my favorite.

Some of the smallest acts of relief are the most humane acts of relief. God bless you and your work.

Videos like this make me glad we don’t have smell-a-vision.

I'm currently traveling for work, driving through miles of farm country. When I see any cows, I talk to them, then wonder, do they have their own Nate? I hope so. They all deserve such professional TLC.

Nate is truly a master of his craft. NO other cow hoof trimmer is as precise and to the point, I like the Irish dudes also but Nate is in a league of his own.

I find it incredible how they can develop an abcess in the hoof like that.
Much respect to the individuals who provide care and relief to these darling creatures.

Sir, I love to watch your work and I enjoy your videos. No music, just you calmly explaining what you do. Just great. Greetings from Germany

I never knew (or even considered) the work, time, and expense that was involved in maintaining a healthy herd of animals. Thank you for your insights and knowledge, and especially the care for these amazing animals.

The fact that he knows how the cow feels without being the cow being able to tell him. That’s empathy. 🥰

Out of curiosity, Nate, how do you handle sterilization of your knife/grinder between cows, if it's even needed since you clean and treat the hoof after trimming? I'd be interested in a behind-the-scenes of the maintenance side of things (cleaning, sharpening, chemical prep, trailer maintenance, etc). I grew up on a farm, so this is all nostalgia even though we primarily had sheep and not cattle.

Every time the salicylic acid wrap is applied, I feel a sense of "all better now" myself. 😊

Yours is a job Nate that also is so gratifying. Not many of us have such a personal connection to our work.

I've been living with Rock in My Soul since Junior High. And frankly? That's a good good thing. 😊
