I never was told - and I didn’t recognize- that life is a struggle. I always thought if I tried just a little harder it would all be right. I remained bewildered that such never happened.
I am now quite old (82) and hope to be not happy but better grounded for the time I have left.

Seeing hardship as a challenge rather than an obstacle has made a huge difference in my life. I struggle with chronic depression and anxiety from CPTSD. And even on my darkest days- maybe even especially- instead of giving into the thoughts and the sadness, I give myself a challenge. I say to myself, “ok, you’re depressed today. Let’s see how many people you can make smile or laugh today.” Or, something as simple as “Let’s see how quickly you can dig yourself out today.” I’ve even kept track of my best times and stats for the day so I could try to beat my previous best. It sounds super weird and forced, but if I make myself do it, I almost always dig myself out. And if I don’t, there’s always tomorrow.

Im 15 and Im dealing with Rhabdomyolysis from overtraining and was hospitalized for an entire week and I almost died and my parents and school aren't very supportive about it and working out is the thing that kept me going through out my life is taken away in this time period. I have very bad body dysmorphia and self esteem with a lot of disorders. This truly is the most difficult time of my life and it's painful.

Knowing what’s expected is to know what to expect, and disappointment happens and it’s expected it’s how to manage the bullshit that will always be there no matter you or your status, money doesn’t pave your path, you actually have to pick up the pebble and move it. 💖🙏💯

This is my favourite part about Jordan Peterson, he has gotten me through such rough times in my life and the most beautiful part of it all is that he always says that it was never him, it was me all along who got myself out of those difficulties. Honestly most people can't find meaning. There's more pain compared to meaning, or pleasure of sustaining this horrible environment we so call life. That's why most struggle.
