Learned so much from your videos so far, and I love it. Definitely more of a fan of AE videos when it comes to this kind of effect though. I feel like this worked easily in Premiere only because of the footage, but for most people that may want to implement a similar effect, they're footage won't necessarily be as ideal, and attempting to use this method will garner many headaches.

I feel like doing this in AE would be pretty simple as well, with easy footage just keying it out, with difficult (contrast-wise) footage, rotobrushing it or masking it out may be the only option. Especially since even in this clip, you still see a good amount of...I think its called chatter? on the tips of the boats where they meet the water.

Rad tutorial though. I'll be shooting some less than ideal footage tomorrow to try out the AE method I said and see how much trouble it is. Thanks for the idea!!!
