How to Insert Created Date and Last Modified Date Inside Cells in Excel

In this advanced excel tutorial I’ll show you how to insert created date and last modified date inside cells in excel. You can always see when a workbook is created and when it was modified or edited but adding that information in your worksheet is different. In this tutorial I’ll show you how to enter last modified time excel and how to enter date of creation of your workbook in excel.

You can get the last saved time of your workbook also using this technique. I’m using excel 2019 for the demonstration and I’ll be using excel VBA for this demonstration. Let’s follow the procedure to record created and last edit date and time in excel.

Step 3: Click "Insert" and then "Module."
Step 5: Click On the "Run" Button

From now on whenever you run this macro you’ll be able to find out last modified time of your workbook in excel. Using this you can insert last modified date in your excel footer also. Created date and time is constant and last saved time in excel is actually the last modified time. This is the time that changes frequently and now we can insert that inside our excel cells.

So my dates come out the wrong way around (in US instead of UK) and I can't change it. So the Modified Date says 04/11/2021, but instead it displays 11-Apr-21. How do I get this date to show correctly? Tried formatting but that doesn't work

Hi notice people are saying the tutorial is fast. Yes it is but just a suggestion, you may slow down the video by changing the setting of your playback speed to a lower speed.
