If you’re a corporate Amex cardholder, you can get $150 off of the annual fee for the platinum (in the form of an annual $150 statement credit). Wasn’t sure if you knew about that. Quite nice.

The Platinum card was my second-ever credit card thanks to MLA, and now that I’m retiring I’m interested to see if Amex will offer anything special for disabled veterans. I love the card, but that annual fee really eats into my disability compensation especially since I’m going back to school and not working.

I don't think they'll waive the annual fee on my Amex Cash Preferred card. I only use it for the 6% cash back categories and I pay it in full every month. I am what they would call a "deadbeat".

After calculation, I called in Amex and told them my platinum is not worth it and I can’t justify it. Retention offered spend 2k, her $300 statement credit. With all the additional benefits til the end of the year, I chose to keep the card

If you are active duty you can get this car for free because the annual fee is waived, thate what I did. The CSR fee is waived too. I pay $0 fees for $1100 cards.
