Is a Neck Herniated Disc Permanent? #shorts

Disc herniations in the neck can improve their symptoms. It's usually possible to reduce neck pain, shoulder pain, upper back pain, and even numbness and tingling in hands. But the disc will usually always appear herniated on an MRI...and that's okay if your symptoms reduce or even go away!

I hear that a herniated disc is more likely to get reabsorbed than a bulged disc. A pt told me that although the outer layer of the disc will never go back to normal, with exercises and correct posture the gel can be somewhat drawn back and thus the bulge to become smaller.

Any truth to that?

Also when you say symptom relief, does that mean that I can start weight lifting again without issues (not over the head of course) and without the constant fear that my bulge will somehow explode if I keep training?
