What do you guys think of the Dell XPS 13 Plus? Also, I put 0 graphs in this video. Did you find the flow to be better or should I keep using benchmarks.

Totally form over function. Lack of physical delete/escape/function keys is big drawback for developers and admins. And plug in some headphones and a charger and you've got no ports left! Even Apple have had the sense to keep(/reinstate) the audio jack and function keys.

Apparently everyone has accepted that front facing speakers are not a priority in windows based laptops anymore. Sad

The one laptop I never got to try this year 😢

I agree. But I had to return it because of the heat. It gets too hot. You can barely hold it on your lap. And I noticed issues with the trackpad. Whenever it gets too hot, sometimes it doesn't register when you click. :( There was a recall for this specific model by Dell for some reason.

There's no bigger turn off than a laptop without a headphone jack. Big L for this one. Dear Dell even flippin Apple keeps the headphone jack.

having only two ports is sad because the market is forcing everyone to bring dongle clutter with them, like that is supposed to be normal inconvenience now. it's one more thing to bring with you in addition to usb peripherals. and, 1 port is already occupied for the power adapter. and, since the remaining 1 port is left, that forces you to bring at least 1 form of some dongle hub to remedy the lack of anything.
the ideal is a slightly thicker ultrabook for the sake of more ports.

Design wise cool, computer wise terrible. There is a world in which companies actually try and we could have designs like this but more functional and not terrible in terms of upgradeability/performance.

It occupies a rather expensive spot due to the existence of more refined machines like the M2 Air and 16 Macbook Pro with M1 Pro within the same price bracket or below

The lack of a dedicated audio jack saddens me. Truly one of the laptops of all time.

Edit: the laptop looks absolutely gorgeous. My only wish would be a real function row instead of a capacitive one and an AMD cpu. (and an audio port)

I love the perfect color accuracy of the 3.5k screen.

It is almost a perfect laptop to me. Sad thing about the ports, it pushes me to buy a USB hub and carry it everywhere. I don't have any issues until the lack of 3.5 jack port, that is pretty awful. Besides that, it's amazing! Thin, light and beautiful...

Dell keyboard is so comfortable. Best in design

Eliminating ports and then including dongles is just the dumbest design path. Hopefully they learn from Apple and bring the ports back.

If I'm buying a laptop I need more ports than that

"There's a nice clickey sound" Not even close to sounding decent, let alone nice. It's like hearing someone type with a mouse button. The big thick keyboards from 2011 and earlier, those had nice clickey sounds. Look at what we've lost for the "quest for thin & light": comfortable keyboards, port selection, swapable batteries, and laptop durability. I can understand making laptops thin & light to a degree, but now it's just absurd. Outside of very specific circumstances, there's no need to make laptops this thin/fragile.

That sucks. The trackpad gimmic is annoying, but copying the worst idea Apple had with a worse implementation for the esc and F keys makes it a no-no for developers. The company I work for used to have XPS 13 as standard issue, but we are having to look at Lenovo since there is no availability of sane versions like the 9315.

Dell is like a Volkswagen now, looks good, very expensive and extremely unreliable!

How do you feel about the keyboard compared to other systems like the Lenovo z13? I have tried them both briefly and the XPS 9320 just seems off.

Looks great but I would go for a Thinkpad nano or the z13. I think they offer a better price/specs balance.
