Why do valorant pro gamers sit so close to their monitors?

I tried to play like an e sports player by getting up and close to the monitor and I failed in about 2 seconds. My ips panel is too bright even on the lowest brightness and my eye literally felt like they were burning.

i would sit closer but my eyes are bad enough already lol so i don't want to make it worse even if i see way better at long range.

THIS IS SO TRUE I got really good aim benchmarks on voltaic but when in val i couldnt seem to hit the shots and felt like i couldnt see what they did and where my crosshair was but now when i sit close i got match mvp on match mvp and now im immo 2

I am always sitting 1 arm length away from my Monitor. It doesnt hurt my eyes so i am very comfy with that. I dont wanna go blind just to be good at a game lmao

I just moved my monitor closer and tilted it up and is actually way easier to see but I'm probably gonna go blind

i prefer sitting far from the monitor, I need to see everything with minimal eye and head movements.
