Even after all this exploitation India(Bharat) still overtook the britain in GDP after less than 80 years of its independence. I'M PROUD OF YOU MY INDIAN BROS AND SISTERS.

Still today most Britishers are on their colonial mindset. They are not willing to accept India's development by mocking and showing lots of jealousy.

And some people argued about RRR being too harsh to British people, implying that the British characters weren't that nuanced.

the video did not cover indigo plantation. Because of the high demand for blue dye in Europe, they forced peasants to plant indigo instead of food crops on their own lands which led to food shortage. They provided loans, called dadon, at a very high interest. Once a farmer took such loans he remained in debt for his whole life before passing it to his successors

I'm in tears. Watching these videos feels like so heartbreaking for all those natives who suffered these tortures

Ironically enough, although the British rule lasted 150 years, it took India only 75 years to become the 5th largest economy in the world by overtaking the British. All of this, even after the British stole 43 trillion from India and by crippling the Indian economy and industries in each and every way possible.

I want to point out something. The narrator mentioned pre-WW2 Japan, not post-WW2 Japan. His point was that if Japan could have built their railways from scratch without being colonised by Europeans or Americans, then why assume that Indians could not have done the same?

On Kristen's comments about greed and resources, there's this famous quote from Gandhi, "The world has enough for everyone's need, but not enough for anyone's greed"

I remember when I was in school and was taught about India's freedom struggle, I had asked my grandpa how were the British, I was a kid and the fact that grandpa had seen what I was studying was fascinating. The only thing he said he remembered about the raaj was how the British officer got angry at some trivial thing and shot an innocent dog to express his anger. This incident had taken place in front of him and he ran towards his house. Such barbarous were the brits.

24:27 You liked it because its like the worst things done by people to other people and it was all truth, like a story. People make movies with plot like this, but for us it was our history. India was a golden bird, it will fly again!

There is a reason why Captain Russell's 'Teen guna lagaan dena parega' (You will have to pay thrice the taxes) line resonated with the Indians. That is literally what happened !

The fact that its only been 75yrs ago India was going through all this makes it more painful & slaps the democracy & rights loving West on their freaking face.

Even after this we were told to be non-violent. The revolutionaries were stopped by our own!

As an Irish from Mauritius and of Indian Origin, i can tell you that the Irish were probably the other target of the Brits that suffered the most and in England there would be signs banning "Dogs and Irish" from the pubs. HOWEVER the reason why the Irish and Indian forces couldn't unite as much in their defence was because a lot of Irish soldiers were sent to India to protect the Brits' interest. It was better pay and life than dying during the british induced famines here in Ireland too. Irish soldiers in India were very often the sole bread winner for a family of 10-15 so helping Indians could mean the end of them and their family. Mind you even Indians were put in the same dilemma, they were recruited as soldiers to torture their own in return for Life & Food for them and their family.

Even now British school history textbooks are not allowed to talk about it except mention it vaguely and put positive spins on it. This is why most Brit’s have no idea how they became rich and still look down on Indians.
