FYI; Just because you get distracted reading boring textbooks doesn’t mean you have ADHD

" The fact that we exist at all is a regulatory nightmare." That covers it completely.

The irony - If FACTOR were honest, it probably wouldn't tout "Restaurant Quality Meals" in the first 15 seconds.

You crossed the line from insightful gags to public service announcement. How that company is allowed to exist and advertise on CERTAIN platforms, I have no idea.
My most sincere thanks for sharing.

For anyone who hasn't already heard: The whole expression "pulling oneself up by one's bootstraps" seems to have originated with a story about a man being inconvenienced by a stone wall across his land or something, and the newspaper writer joked about how the people building the wall must imagine he will pull himself up by the straps of his boots (that is, _lift himself into the air_ ) in order to cross this wall when needed. It was not a phrase for "get a grip", it was a phrase for "being expected to do something literally impossible".

I may be slightly off on some of the exact details, but that was the gist of it.

The analogy with struggling with weights hits hard. Especially the “it’s not a big deal actually, I’ll be fine” part in the end.

You know, I confronted my dad about he whole “pull yourself up by your boot straps” thing and how that task is impossible in every aspect only to get the response “it’s just a saying”. Now I am starting to think an entire generation misunderstood a saying just like nobody ever responds correctly to “do you mind” correctly.

Real talk, these Horton videos are so funny because it helps us to laugh to keep from crying. Our system is a scam, while oligarchs profit and the good people suffer.

Tv dinners will NEVER taste or look even close to food from a proper restaurant.

I thought the Factor ad was just satire not a actual ad😂

Finally someone on YouTube talks about how awful BetterHelp is! And they didn’t even cover everything. I’m really disappointed in the YouTubers who take their sponsorships

I had a terrible experience with better health. I mentioned how I was physically locked in a room and kept there with threats of suicide and she said “I don’t want you to feel bad about that, to me it just sounds like they cared” - I was very vulnerable at the time but that didn’t sit quite right and I cancelled my account. Now I wonder if she was licensed at all lol.

Ad within an ad uhh? Okay guys. It’s time to go full meta. “If Honest ads were honest” needs to be made asap.

"We pulled ourselves up by our bootstraps, and I turned out just fine!"
"I'm not sure you DID!"

this is so fucking true though. Lots of people will go their whole lives without ever learning to recognize how broken they really are inside.
