Econometrics: The Path from Cause to Effect

preview_player
Показать описание
If you're looking to untangle cause and effect in a complex world, then econometrics is what you seek. Join MIT professor Josh Angrist, aka Master Joshway, and learn to master the econometrics "Furious Five": random assignment, regression, instrumental variables, regression discontinuity designs, and differences-in-differences methods.

Think econometrics is boring? So it was once, but will be no more! Skipping theoretical tedium, we use real empirical questions to bring the numbers to life. Does an expensive private university education pay off with higher earnings? Does health insurance really make you healthier? Does legal drinking cost lives?

Woah - this "story-telling" approach to lectures could change the game! It could make learning more bearable and enjoyable. I came for the econometrics but got sucked in to the story. Excited for the next video.

Literally I have learned a lot about economics on this YouTube site, an then the econometrics is one of the hardest subject in economics, so can't wait to learn about econometrics in this site. Thanks master

Graduated with econometrics in mind back in 2016 and was too startled with all these big data buzzwords
Then I started to build a data center for simple regression analysis for the company I worked for.
Then we applied some simple regression analysis for the data gathered and achieved some 30% growth even during Covid outbreak
Now we are trying to build a real-time information flow system for data collection.
What is more exciting for someone with econometric background to dictate the data structure (apart from the biases) haha

I’m glad to find this channel . Entertaining and funny in economic way.

So I recently started reading the AEA's Journal of Microeconics. I literally read the first sentence and decided to come here. Instead of walking before crawling I think I just tried to swim before being born. Thank you for this channel.
