Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are tools for measuring progress toward a goal. In short, they quickly communicate whether the organization, team, project, or individual is doing well relative to that goal. Though KPIs have long been available in Microsoft Power BI, Excel (PowerPivot), Analysis Services, and other business intelligence and analytics platforms, many analysts struggle with creating and presenting KPIs, not least because the term is often misinterpreted as meaning any metric or measurement. This webinar will help you clarify your understanding of what a KPI is, learn the techniques for transforming your data, and configuring the KPI visual in Power BI.

Through attending this webinar, you will:
- Be able to define the term Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and identify the primary characteristics of a KPI
- Be able to describe the relationship between a KPI and a goal and why a KPI is a valuable business management tool
- Identify appropriate KPIs for a particular business process
- Identify the required data for computing your KPIs
- Use Power Query and DAX in Power BI to transform your data and create necessary columns and measures
- Build a simple report and dashboard to present your KPI

Some significant business management concepts in this that I concur with and have been encouraging businesses to adopt over many years. I've like the bit about "if you have hundreds of KPIs they're not all KPIs". I've seen this done so many times, keep focussed on the big stuff that matters and ignore the rest.
