I know this channel's main attraction is Adam's videos, but I really appreciate Norm's thorough, detailed reviews. Thanks!

Once AGAIN. I feel the need to comment the fact that Norm is the most underrated reviewer on YouTube. Just like the original Steam Deck video he did, full of facts, no filler and elegantly presented. Give this man his own channel.

Exciting to see a screen and battery update. Maybe in a couple more years there will be full new CPU/GPU/Materials hardware.

Always a great time hearing about the product by the people who actually worked on it. Genuine thrill to be able to talk about their project.

They really updated everything about it. I was NOT expecting that crazy 2 in one carrying case upgrade 🤯

This is an insta buy for me. It literally addresses every issue I have with my Deck. Far better looking screen, bigger screen, higher refresh rate, bigger battery, cooler temperature, quieter fan, a little better performance, and all the little tweaks they made as well. Like the top model being 1TB now. Absolutely insane upgrade. I only got the mid tier model when I first bought it. I'll be getting the top tier model this time around.

I really appreciate how knowledgeable you are on the Steam Deck, as well as your honesty on performance compared to other systems, this was great journalism and not a hyped sponsored video. I have had my steam deck for well over year and these are nice upgrades but not nice enough to abandon my deck. Sort of like I didn't switch out my switch for a switch OLED.. For now I will stick to my deck as much as I love the legion go but I really want a generational upgrade from the Z1 extreme.

This steam deck is a building block for the next VR headset I am patiently waiting for from Valve.

The intv with the valve guys was super refreshing and a great listen. They seem genuinely into making a good handheld

Good on Valve for adjusting the prices to match the original lineup after getting rid of the 64gb model. They could have easily just charged the same or more for less but didn't, like i feel most companies would.

Holy cow, the temperature really dropped with this new revision, there is more than 10 degrees of difference

it would be cool if they had a trade in upgrade program if you already bought one and its still in good shape

I appreciate Valve's software approach more than competitors going for raw hardware power -- Valve is focusing on long-term software support, looking for developers to include Steam Deck specific performance modes in their games while also continuing to improve performance on the OS level. I feel like a Steam Deck is going to last a lot longer in someone's hands than a Windows-based handheld PC that will have discontinued software support in 1-2 years. I prefer that they're trying to create a better user experience on this refresh so developers can CONTINUE to get used to developing with the Steam Deck in mind before coming out with a big core hardware upgrade. I'd MUCH rather have this new version's hardware that's cooler and less power hungry for a handheld than be able to hit PS5/XSX-level graphics while the thing sounds like a jet engine and lasts for only 1.5 hours on a charge.

What we get in new version: +5-7% fps, -10-12 t° and better screen, I'm think its very nice

Glad that you asked about supply chain and was so happy to hear that they are in a much better position to meet demand for the new models.

Great video Norm! As one of the 20th Anniversary sale SD buyers I'm still happy. I got the 64gb for a bargain price and will let this slide until the Steam Deck 2 shows That OLED sure is stunning though!
