the real explanation is; when you experience deja vu, the reality part tells that you actually never saw it before, its just an overlay. basically, your brain goes as if two lines where proceeding symmetrically, but sometimes, this can glitch. your consiousness will get mixed up. and when you see the thing you saw, a millisecond after you see it, you will forget the fact that you literally just saw it, and your brain accidently throws it as a past scene. basically your shadow having a shadow.
