Which PHONE Tethering Connection is fastest: USB, WiFi or Bluetooth?

Hi, this video tests the connection speeds of 3 different methods of tethering which is sharing your mobile cell phone's internet connection with other devices. It tests USB tethering, then WiFi hotspot and lastly the Bluetooth tethering. Then at the end I move the phone around to try and get a better mobile signal and also use a longer USB lead to see if these impact the speed results.
Many thanks Vince

With Bluetooth hotspot you are secured from third party people viewing you're internet activity, and for me, I feel personally that the Bluetooth hotspot works faster then wifi if you are using CDMA REV A, or CDMA Auto PRL as you're hotspot phones network "the phone you're giving off you're data connection .
With Bluetooth hotspot connected to phone to phone connected, it works pretty fast for the sakes of it being used by internet sharing over Bluetooth . And you're phone uses less battery on Bluetooth.

Anyway, USB is always faster, consumes less energy, and significantly gives you faster possible response time. If using Wireless better change the network band to 5GHz for better speed.

I was considering making my network full cellular using my phone as the modem for the network. Do you have any comments on any issues I could have with that idea?

Do you think the bluetooth speeds would be affected if your bluetooth client was compliant with newer bluetooth standards?

It is not a problem with the Bluetooth. I have tested on many devices and it really is that slow. You are doing really well if you get close to two megabits. But there are situations where Bluetooth is very handy. Also were you testing hotspot on 2.4 or 5 GHz? I find that makes a difference. As to the USB cable, it is a lottery depending on your phone. Some phones I have tested use a 3 m cable just fine. Others won't even make a connection even though they can charge off the cable. But I haven't found that a longer cable slows things down. It either works or it doesn't.
