I find it really sad that judging from most of the comments, hardly anyone knows the origins of this song or the context of the song. It was written and performed at the beginning of World War II. It was an homage to servicemen and servicewomen leaving home, risking their lives, and often dying fighting the Nazis. You all owe your freedom to these people, yet you have no clue about that period of history.
