Those speeches really don't make any sense. If you speak German and French, you'll realize that the first speech is De Gaulle explaining why France lost WW2 and the second speech is Hitler talking about economic stuff.

After a while they decided to just turn around and call it a day.

In the end the french suffered over 2, 000+ casualties while the entrenched germans suffered only a few hundred
The offensive was a french attempt to breach german seigfried line while more french troops would then mobilize to continue the offensive into germany to assist their polish allies
However, due to outdated system, their mobilization effort was slow, and by the time the offensive got anywhere, the polish front already collasped, combine with the soviet mobilization of the polish border promped france to abandon the plan and withdrew
