The one most important key factor that sold me this setup is the versatility of being able to use the iPad as a laptop and a tablet as well. As a nursing major, the iPad and magic keyboard is just enough for me. I personally don’t need all of the big MacOs softwares and video editing softwares. I love the fact that you can take handwritten notes on this device and also be able to type documents with the magic keyboard. Yes, the magic keyboard alone and iPad together is pricey, but I think that it is a great investment if you have the money to afford it.

A recommendation about schoolwork: I've been using a first gen iPad Pro for school for a couple of years now, and with online courses and TA/HR work I found it was really difficult for the university IT department to support it through their security systems. I also had to jump through a lot of hoops to export a file to an online upload portal in Canvas. I gave in this year and bought a MacBook Air specifically for the heavy writing assignments graduate school requires. I still prefer my iPad for personal and creative work, and will upgrade to the new Pro and this Magic Keyboard sometime soon. The Lidar scanner will be really useful for the architectural design work I'm doing. Thanks, Justine.

To the student who wanted to know if they should get a MacBook or an iPad: as a 3rd year stem major, I just got an iPad and I’m in love with it. It helps a lot with organizing note taking, easy to download powerpoints and have them side by side w your notes (or just take notes on the actual PowerPoint), allows lab worksheets to be uploaded straight to the iPad and more ! if you’re a major that will be writing a lot of essays and such I would go with the MacBook, but if you are in a major that requires an incredible amount of note takin, I would highly suggest an iPad. I use a chrome book just to type out essays from prereq classes and lab reports as needed, it gets the job done!

Now that I’m here... does anybody actually know if the magents on this case are strong enough to support a case on the iPad? When I take it off to take notes I want it to be protected and I don’t wanna carry around 2 cases all the time xD

Just from the point of view of college, I am an engineering college professor and I use the Apple ecosystem almost exclusively. The iPad Pro is amazing for note taking and especially in the world we live in now, it is much easier to create and annotate content live when you are presenting the content electronically in a digital classroom environment. That being said, you were absolutely correct that there are just some software packages we use in Engineering that run much slower or sometimes are not even available to run on an iPad. There are also some software packages that are exclusively made for Windows and so it becomes necessary to do dual boots which, at least I think (although I have never tried on an iPad), is much easier to do on a Mac.

Respect for doing this second review. I usually watch your vids for the fan girl perspective as well as the handporn, but taking questions and doing an actual rerun and proper a review has surprised me. It actually answers questions I was still looking for elsewhere - nice work👏👏👏
