Backlight Bleed Test

There are many people who have issues with back light bleed on their monitors but I found there was no convenient way to check where it is. Most people will open a movie file on their computer or use a preview of a blank screensaver.

Use it to diagnose your backlight bleed issues.

Please comment which monitor/device you have and how good/bad the backlight bleed is!

Guys, my 32" 4k LG screen had bleeding on the corners, and then I stopped using it for around 1 month, even disconnected it, after this, unexpectedly, the bleeding corners are gone. This is amazing, now I can sell my screen for a fair value. :)

if you DO find blacklight bleed on an LCD, I have a tip for you. Put a tiny piece of card or thin hard plastic (in my case, just a few millimetres) under the bezel just above or below the bleed. You may need to experiment a little but you'll find the sweet spot soon enough. It should stop the bleed completely. I used this to fix an otherwise perfect Asus 27" panel.

A very easy way to check backlight bleeding or pixel errors is using Windows Paint. Simply set the width and height of the blank new picture to the monitor's resolution. Than use the filling tool to fill the whole picture with any color you want (black for backlight bleeding test, red green and blue for pixel error test). Set the view to full screen and check the monitor. It's even much easier than it sounds and can be done very quickly.

black light bleed is the lighting that becomes more noticeable in a completely black screen like this video. like you go full screen 1080p if your monitor is 1080p res then i do recommend this setting. but the test is so that the black is black you shouldn't see any white spots at all just pure one color black all even lighting of the black no distorted washed spots anywhere

dropped my asus rog zephyrus g14 laptop the second week after i got it. luckily it was in a case, so it was protected very well. no backlight bleeding thankfully.

Dell Inspiron 7559. Only a tiny tiny amount of backlight bleed at the bottom of the screen only really noticeable when both the screen and the room you're in is pitch black.

I'm happy to say my AOC Q27G3XMN has absolutely no backlight bleed. It looks as if the monitor is off

It's pretty common don't worry about it, you cant spread it to others. You will be fine.

This shit should be covered by legal regulations - heck some manufacturers even take it as "granted" on IPS and PLS nowadays. Yet it 's clearly light leakage due to bad montage and / or material fault as in in their fault which is repairable by opening up the complete LCD and blocking out the light - not by the customer but by the manufacturers. They don't even want to repair it because it 's cheaper for them to make a new one by disassembling the old one and hoping for a better result (they don't really care that is).

Just bought Dell u2412m and thank god it doesnt have annoying amounts of IPSGLOW/Bleed whatever.
Colours are good and just played Borderlands 2 and DmC and can say that this monitor can do games really well.

Asus mg279q no backlight bleed at all, but after 2 weeks. Before it was little bleed in the right corner.

yay my lg 29um67 has no backlight bleed. Thanks for the vid. Some people have backlight bleed issues on ips monitors but I don't seem to.
