Precious No Dig Harvests in March As Seed Sowing Commences

Показать описание

Today's video features some of the key harvests coming from the vegetable garden in March, including ones that I think are rather special as they can only happen once a year or are something new I have just discovered. See how the kitchen garden is doing in March, as well as a chat on planting potatoes and sowing tomatoes. I also cover crops that are going to reach maturity in a few short weeks to help fill the hungry gap.

Your new book just arrived at my home in the USA. I couldn't wait for the US release and I wanted the hardcover anyway :) What a FANTASTIC resource!! This book will be a go to staple as I teach school students to grow their own food in our school garden. Thank you for all of your hard work in authoring this book and for your wonderful youtube channel.

You’re so lucky to live in a climate that has such warm winters and early springs. It’s 2 degrees outside with windchill this morning here in southern Missouri though geese flew overhead going north last week. Always a hopeful sign. I have my onions and brassicas started indoors for planting outside next month. I always enjoy your videos very much, they’re always so positive in spirit. Thank you.

Just brilliant Huw! I've had allotments for over 50 years (aged 73) & been a practical ecologist all my life but I've learnt more about the living soil in the last 5 years than ever before My no-dig plots are in their 2nd year & already showing good results Charles Dowding and you are real trail-blazers! Glomalin is the answer to so many of our Biosohere's problems but it's almost unknown Keep up your fantastic work!

It's great to see that no plant goes to waste!
There's so much more than meets the eye that we can eat from one plant.

So true. And this is what so many gardeners, especially in the northern US are missing out on. We think of gardening as beginning in spring and ending after the summer is over. And you miss out on SO much food with that mindset.

I'm looking at your garden in March and I'm so jealous but also filled with hope! Here in CT USA we were hit with a Cyclone Bomb today, but starting Monday it looks like we'll have at least 2 full weeks of above freezing and it will be time to plant my cool hardies. Also looking forward to the arrival of you book!

Here in Toronto, Canada after years of gardening in zone 5, I safely put out my seedlings after Victoria Day May 24 weekend. This is what I go by since frost is a worry.

I love all this green colour. I was in the garden today to prepare some beds. It was the first warm day. Our nights are frosty and there is still ice on the pond. Nothing is blooming. I can't await spring to be here also. Greeting from the Black Forest in Germany.
