I feel like exploiting the $800 import tax loophole is more clever than nefarious imo. But if the US is upset about that they should just remove charge a smaller % tax for < $800 and call it a day.

Some of their sellers are litteraly stealing my small businesses products. They are using the exact images THAT I TOOK! Its been so hard working with their legal team. If they are selling in the US they should abide by laws and processes that Amazon, eBay, and Etsy all follow.

Real problem is you cant expect individuals to make the moral choice when people are just trying to get by and everything is expensive. Consumers are gonna look for a bargain its up to government to protect against fraud or business practice concerns

There's no such thing as illegal loopholes. Can't disagree with everything else, but a loophole is legal. It's up to the appropriate authorities to take action. I'd exchange the word unethical for illegal. Temu doesn't have the "Juice" yet to push it's weight around the world concerning legislation favorable to it. Many times loopholes are baked into legislation with lobbyists "Suggesting" the wording of laws.

I ordered off Temu for Christmas and all of a sudden there's an $10 charge to Alexa. I don't own an Alexa and it was the card I used for Temu. Never again

Never had an issue. Use a third party payment system. No complaints about product quality. But I guess I'm an outlier.

These Temu advertisements are the worse but the only reason I never refresh the website on YouTube is because they all are skipable.
Maybe this is a strategy too?
