I MADE A $5,000 MISTAKE ON MY CRUISE

I don't make mistakes often but I did on this ccruise. I thought I did something that would have saved me thousands of dollars. so after watching this video tell me did I make a mistake or was it worth it?

I've never bid on an upgrade because I have always been afraid that the new location might not be appealing to me, but that much space on a longer cruise would really be nice.

The only way this “UPGRADE” works is as if you take all your meals in this floating living room/bedroom/ bathroom and never leave this floating money pit. Otherwise you obviously over paid for a cabin because it is a whole lot of space you don’t need for almost $4, 000 US. Bottom line: if you are paying big bucks for a cabin you got to stay there all the time for the price to make sense.

Oh I love that suite and especially because it has a tub! I would also enjoy the balcony, think it would be fun to occasionally watch the crew.

Yeah, you never know what you'll get with an upgrade. I prefer to pick a specific cabin and stick to it. Carnival recently offered me an upgrade, and actually provided the actual upgraded cabin number. That made it easy to check it out. I stuck with my original choice.

I was going to bid for an upgrade for my last cruise…until I realized that I would not be able to pick the room location. If location is important, it is best to stick with what you can choose.

Hi Don! One plus on the big suite and nice ‘living room’ is maybe you and Tony could comfortably enjoy watching the Olympics one evening after a long day of excursions? I like your suite but sorry the upgrade was expensive and sorry that the balcony isn’t ideal. Enjoy!!!

Going from $250 / day for your balcony to $469 / day for your suite. I would rather take another 16 day cruise in a balcony than pay for the upgrade to the suite.

I love the size of the cabin but that balcony is a bust. Not worth the extra $$

We had a window cabin and bid on a balcony and won 2 days before the cruise. They gave us a handicap room which we did not request but it was huge and great.

That cabin is the EXACT reason I do not do the upgrade bids! The price was pretty good though...

One of the reasons that I like your vlogs is that you show these great looking cabins. I would not spend that kind of money on a cabin like that even with that great discount.

The reason that particular cabin was available for your upgrade is because no one wanted to book it directly. They were stuck with an empty cabin.

Maybe it’s just me, but saying you made a $5000 mistake implies that you unknowingly did something that caused you to lose $5000. Not that you paid/received an upgrade you forgot you made a bid for. And got an amazing deal on it too.

You would think they would have sent an email to make sure you were still interested in the upgrade and require you to confirm.
