Excellent point about the required levels of formality. Just because we're at work doesn't mean we start speaking a new language called Business English. The majority of interactions with colleagues, clients and suppliers will be normal, casual conversations. There is normally some industry/sector (or even internal company) specific vocabulary to learn that would be new to any outsider, native or non-native.

Great vid - you made me want to sign up for your business English course, and I'm a graduate school level native speaker! Tip - when studying how to get informal, ask ( free version) of Chat GPT to give you some mildly humorous informal synonyms. (Just be careful because some could easily sound stupid.) For example instead of "I slowly worked my was up from the bottom", one of the LLM's suggestions for "the bottom" might be:

Rock condo (upgrade from "rock bottom")
Basement suite
The sub-sub-basement
Ground zero for ambition
The belly of the barrel
Flatline zone
The basement of dignity
The gutter's penthouse
Failure's front porch
Loserville HQ
The down escalator’s end
The dead-end of hope
Crash pad for dreams
Sub-basement of shame
